A Brief Overview
This position leads the integration of solutions that work to address multiple regulatory requirements and certifying agencies thus ensuring compliance to rules affecting safety, hazardous waste, medical equipment, fire/ life safety and utilities. The major functions of this position are: responsible for ensuring specific, daily compliance with regulations, managing regulatory compliance audits, ensure effective recordkeeping, coordinate leadership reporting.

What you will do
- Conduct TJC EOC/Life Safety regulatory compliance program for SHC, as required. Lead role during survey activity audits, lead hospital interface for The Joint Commission (TJC) Environment of Care Life Safety Committee (ECLSC) for interviews, review of records, corrective actions, & Performance Improvement Opportunities. Coordinate continual preparation for all TJC EOC regulatory compliance activities for all sites.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for staff and patients; ensure PPE is readily available, OR’s are always clean and ready for patients and environment complies with all regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement protocols that meet the needs of the department by creating standard work for room cleaning, proper storage of equipment, par levels of cleaning supplies, room setups, and other protocols as is the main point of contact for the ORA group, consisting of OR environmental supervisors, Leads and Operating Room Assistants.
- Contribute to operational effectiveness and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement productivity, quality and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
- Research solutions for equipment/supplies and continually look for cost saving alternatives that will create a safer work environment including cleaning products that have a reduced dwell time.
- Participate in all related departmental projects, delegate tasks, and keep staff updated on their current progress.
- Manages the recruiting, hiring, and training of new employees and implements protocols to ensure standard work is followed.
- Assist in the coordination of PM and repair scheduling for surgical operating room beds.
- Maintains EOC/LS documentation and records.
- Coordination and collaboration efforts for the purchase, delivery, and training of new equipment with the Finance and Education department leaders.
- Establish and maintain effective lines of communication with union partners and human resources.
- Manage relationships with key operations vendors.
- Oversees two supervisors and 60 plus FTE’s across the IP platform.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a work related field.
Experience Qualifications
- 5 years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of TJC/OSHA/DHS/Department of Health and Fed/Cal Environmental Protection regulations and standards
- Knowledge of Safety Plan development
- Knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping
- Knowledge of governance strategies including policy development
- Ability to effectively collaborate with other key department leaders
- Ability to problem solve in an effective manner
- Ability to organize compliance records and files
- Ability to communication effectively with managers, peers, and subordinates
- Ability to read and understand contract language
- Skill in interviewing, auditing, and risk assessment
- Skill in reviewing and editing of departmental policies for approval
- Skill in identifying and mitigating hazards and risks
- Skill in identifying opportunities for improvement
- Skill in recall compliance policy against observed condition
- Skill in building of effective management programs to address needs

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $62.75 - $83.16 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
