Job Description
The Manager of One-Time Giving is responsible for the strategic management and oversight of direct marketing programs that acquire, cultivate, and/or reactivate donors through traditional and non-traditional direct marketing channels for ALSAC/St. Jude. This role includes researching, developing, and maximizing program performance to grow ALSAC’s donor base and revenue. The Manager oversees program strategy, creative evaluation, and detailed analysis of costs, revenues, and return on investment (ROI), ensuring optimal performance and efficiency for high-impact one-time giving programs.
Essential Job Functions
- Strategically manages and oversees direct marketing programs that cultivate high-value donors across multiple channels, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Recommends and implements advanced strategies to maximize ALSAC/St. Jude exposure and fundraising efforts, driving significant revenue growth.
- Oversees program strategy, creative evaluation, and detailed analysis of costs, revenues, and ROI to ensure optimal performance and efficiency for one-time giving programs.
- Champions new opportunities and innovative approaches to increase revenue through direct marketing initiatives.
- Manages substantial program budgets, monitors ongoing expenses and revenue activity, and prepares comprehensive monthly financial reports.
- Leads and mentors cross-functional teams while facilitating effective interdepartmental communication and collaboration to ensure program success.
- Provides strategic direction and consultative support to team members and internal partners, leading cross-departmental initiatives that drive donor cultivation and retention.
- Tracks and analyzes program results rigorously, manages high-profile campaigns to exceed KPIs, and builds strong relationships with external partners to execute complex campaign strategies.
- Effectively cascades information from leadership to the team, ensuring alignment with strategic plans and priorities. Enforces policies and procedures that improve overall operational effectiveness and utilizes strong problem-solving skills to collaboratively address issues.
- Hires, develops, mentors, and coaches a team of professionals. Provides guidance on administrative responsibilities, procedures, policies, and communication; reviews work to ensure quality standards; and is responsible for performance reviews, corrective action, and terminations when necessary.
Job Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of fundraising, marketing, or direct marketing
- Ability to diplomatically negotiate priorities and timelines while maintaining composure under pressure
- Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on innovative solutions
- Demonstrated collaboration skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of general management principles and methods
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to speak and write clearly and effectively for internal and external audiences
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions
- Understanding of data processing applications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or three years of relevant experience
This position is based at ALSAC’s National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
