Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is looking for an experienced Manager to join our Radiation Therapy team!


Schedule:

Full Time, 40hrs/wk. Day Shift. Per department needs.

Overview

The Manager of Radiation Therapy will oversee both the clinical and administrative operations of the radiation oncology department ensuring safe, efficient, high-quality patient care. This role acts as a bridge between radiation therapists, dosimetrists, physicists, physicians, and hospital leadership, while also managing budgets, regulatory compliance, staffing, and strategic planning.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Oversee daily operations of the radiation oncology service line, including patient scheduling, treatment delivery, and department flow.

  • Develop, implement, and review standard operating procedures (SOPs) for clinical, safety, and administrative processes.

  • Work with the Medical Director, physicists, and dosimetrists to ensure clinical protocols and treatment quality are maintained.

  • Establish and maintain a quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) program for treatment planning, machine performance, and chart checks.

  • Prepare for regulatory audits (e.g., health department, accrediting bodies).

  • Performs radiation therapy and CT duties and procedures 2 to 3 days per week or as staffing and workload dictates.

  • Accurately delivers the prescribed planned course of therapy using the Linear Accelerator.

  • Use equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the psychological aspect of radiation therapy with patients.

  • Explain and prepare patient for procedure prior to beginning.

Requirements:

  •  Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program required; Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist

  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare or clinical setting required.

  • Experience with quality assurance, clinical workflow, and radiation safety.

  • Familiarity with oncology information systems / treatment planning software / record & verify systems.

  • Demonstrated ability in performance management: evaluations, disciplinary action, mentoring.
