Description:

Manages and oversees the procurement, receipt, distribution, sterilization and disposition of supplies and equipment for St. Peter's Health Care Services (SPHCS) Surgical Services Division. The Manager is responsible for the effective operation of Operating Room support services including Sterile Processing Department and OR Materials Management functions, emphasizing the prudent use of human, fiscal and materials resources.

The Manager is responsible for managing Surgical Services vendor relationships and is the gatekeeper for controlling the introduction of new operating room technology. The Manager, working in conjunction with the Surgical Services Operations Managers, demonstrates effective leadership in the execution of his/her responsibilities, ensuring that departmental operation supports the delivery of care.

The Director works collaboratively with the SPHCS Director of Supply Chain Management (SCM) in establishing and achieving the strategic and operating direction for Surgical Services Supply Chain.
 

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years in leadership of Surgical Services and Healthcare Materials Management related functions.
  • Must possess the fundamental management skills of planning, organizing, directing, controlling and staffing.
  • Must possess superior analytical ability, good communication skills, and effective negotiation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge concerning medical/surgical supplies, equipment and services
  • Demonstrated strategic focus with the ability to tactically execute.
  • Lawson software and reporting tools, desired.
  • Familiarity with value analysis process.

Education Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Master's degree in business administration (desired)

Pay Range

$31.50 - $44.95
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
