Manages the dispatching and routes for Distribution Storeroom Courier functions performed by Supply Techs. Maintains designated inventories in an accurate manner. Ensures supplies and equipment are received, put away, and/or delivered in accordance with approved policies. Coordinates and supervises the workflow to ensure the duties assigned to storeroom personnel are performed efficiently and competently, with a priority placed on providing excellent patient care always.The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:
Manages and monitors all Distribution Courier functions performed by Storeroom Supply Technicians
Develop courier routes to optimize travel time, minimize manning requirements, and ensure all clinic/facility logistic needs are met
Ensure vehicle maintenance needs are met and are maintained in a safe operating condition
Create work schedules to ensure adequate coverage, both during normal operating hours and during off hours for on-call needs, for all functions of Distribution
Ensure all staff members are adequately trained and all tasks have sufficient cross-training coverage
Responsible for inventory control processes
Ensures receiving discrepancies are monitored and corrected in a timely manner
Accepts returned supplies ordered in error and credits appropriate accounts
Identifies discrepancies between packing slips and delivery tickets
Safely operates the manual or electric pallet jacks to deliver supplies and equipment to the requestors
Performs distribution courier tasks in their absence
Inspects supplies and equipment received to determine possible damage due to shipping
Investigates and resolves invoice discrepancies that result from receiving discrepancies or errors
Other duties as assigned
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required OR 10 years’ equivalent experience in lieu of degree required
Valid NC driver’s license which will be verified by CFV Risk Management, to include obtaining inclusion in the CFV vehicle insurance program
2 years in a phase of inventory control and distribution, preferably in a hospital setting, required
5 years of operational and supervisory experience required
Ability to problem solve in a fast paced, high stress environment while multi-tasking and maintaining extreme attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively, mediate employee conflict, and hold staff accountable with professionalism and tact
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
Numerical ability for calculation and computations necessary in maintaining perpetual inventory
Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and walk great distances while pushing or pulling carts/pallet jacks
Verbal ability is required to communicate effectively with hospital staff and vendors
Finger dexterity and motor coordination are required to work keys of computer, typewriter and calculator
Ability to, at a minimum, lift and/or move boxes, equipment, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds and/or rolling weight of up to 400 pounds, in an efficient manner
Proficiency with the English language
Visual ability is required to read packing slips, receiving reports, stock numbers and locations
