  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.
  • 24/7 responsibility for department operations.
  • Available for after-hours, weekend, and holiday escalation via phone/email.
  • Flexible for occasional off-hours presence for urgent needs or surveys.

Pay Range

$46.55 - $69.85

Major Responsibilities: Planning, management, implementation and evaluation of operations/services to insure quality cost effectiveness. 1)Establishes staffing requirements. Plans for the appropriate utilization of human resources. 2)Promotes patient safety by reporting of issues through established channels and participating as requested in safety initiatives 3)Monitors quality of patient care and customer satisfaction; oversees implementation of measures to improve both 4) Facilitates care delivery in conjunction with patient focused care model. 5)Oversees the daily functions of the diagnostic, and support services to ensure utmost quality of patient care. 6)Insures compliance with all regulatory agency standards, i.e. federal, state, city, village, Accrediting Organization, IDPH, IDNS, ACR and all hospital policies and procedures 7)Monitors productivity levels to ensure proper utilization of staff and resources. 8)Establishes staffing requirements. Plans for the appropriate utilization of human resources. 9)Effectively utilizes available reports to make practice improvements. Responsible for the selection, development, motivation and evaluation of the staff. 1)Recruits, selects, mentors and motivates direct reports to achieve department, hospital and personal goals and objectives. 2)Evaluates and conducts performance reviews for staff on a timely basis. 3)Coordinates recruitment activities. Facilitate and promote retention strategies 4)Assesses educational needs of the staff and facilitates educational opportunities. 5)Assist individuals with identifying professional goals and provides opportunities to achieve these goals. 6)Insures an adequate orientation program for staff. 7)Monitors productivity levels to ensure proper utilization of staff and resources, and improve cost and service performance. 8)Monitors and facilitates the resolutions of performance and/or employee relations issues. 9)Builds an open communication atmosphere for employees, using tool such as staff meetings, rounding and one on one talk to encourage communication. 10)Responsible for associate satisfaction. If survey fall below 75% creates action plan to improve work environment for associates Responsible for monitoring operational effectiveness, ensuring effective practice management in conformance with administrative policy and external guidelines. 1)Monitors daily patient satisfaction scores for outpatients, inpatients, and ED patients 2)If scores are below 90th% creates action plan to increase scores. 3)Creates and refines action plan to bring outpatient satisfaction scores to the 95th % 4)Checks patient comments section of survey corrects any problems or issues. 5)Ensure all staff are rounding on patients at appropriate intervals Preparation and administration of budgets to insure adequate personnel, facilities and supplies. 1)Plans and administers an annual budget and monitors budgetary expenditures, reports and justifies variances on an on-going basis. 2)Ensures the continuity of management through appropriate selection, development, reward, appraisal and motivation of staff. 3)Identifies inventory levels and costs of supplies maintained in the area. 4)Develops new and expanding program proposals with costs/budget implications. 5)Completes forecasting for up-coming and long term budgets. 6)Develops major equipment purchase proposals. 7) Demonstrates working knowledge of financial reporting tools and resources, including, but not limited to, Crystal, Lawson, GE Flowcast, PACs and all Microsoft tools. 8)Coordinates the budget process and approves the allocations of funds, based on a review of actual performance and projections. 9) Maintenance of effective working relationships with internal and external contacts. 1)Collaborates with physicians, management and other health care professionals to assure delivery of the highest quality of imaging services, patient care, patient/customer satisfaction and continual referral into the imaging areas for services. 2)Networks with peers to assure that administrative and clinical standards for imaging services are integrated into the department and hospital services. 3)Networks with professionals at other health care facilities for clinical standards within the imaging departments. 4)Coordinates activities with medical practices to insure timely, cost effective service is delivered within the patient focused care model. Responsible for insuring that all clinical standards are met in the operations of areas of responsibility. 1)Creates and maintains orientation checklists for all staff in areas of responsibility. Insures annual compliance, including maintenance of certifications and licensures for all staff, annual competencies for all staff, education for staff and students, and maintenance of appropriate associate files. 2)Colloborates on creation of policies for all areas of responsibility. 3)Obtains and maintaines ACR accreditation for all equipment/modalities. 4)Insures compliance with requirements of all governing bodies including state of Illinois, FDA, etc. Maintains all records in support of compliance and acts in a proactive manner to discover and amelirate any deficiencies. 5)Maintains complaince with HIPAA standards for all staff. 6)Insurnace standards of practice are developed, implemented and evaluate in conjunction with monitoring and evaluation activities appropriate for the area. Conducts special projects and studies related to area activities, goals or objectives. Responsible for personal and professional growth and development. 1)Keeps abreast of technology innovations and health care trends and issues related to imaging services via literature, educational events, internal and external resources and internal/external networking. 2) Maintains memberships in professional and community organizations. 3)Participates in activities to enhance professional growth by involvement in professional organizations and continuing education programs. 4)Seeks professional oppoertunities for educationa dn advancement in the field. Creates learning and growth plan and monitors progress to goals. Education/Experience Required: * 3 years of previous management experience focused in radiology/ imaging. * 5 years previous radiology/imaging experience. Associate Degree or Certificate in Radiological Technology. Bachelor of Science degree in Radiology or Health Care Management or equivalent experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: * Organization, planning & delegation skills. * Team building skills. * Financial skills. * Communication skills. * Demonstrates leadership attitudes. * Results oriented with concern for appropriate process. ARRT certified and IEMA licensed. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: * Ability to travel locally. * Ability to work within stressful conditions and difficult situations. * Resilient and flexible in a changing environment. * Exposed to radiation and high strenght magnetic fields * Ability to meet flexible work hours. * Ability to make independent professional decisions using good judgment skills. * Ability to practice high quality patient care and technical competence. * Ability to function with minimal assistance in performing job activities. * Ability to demonstrate good communication skills. * May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, such as film processing chemicals. * This position will need to recognized needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients treated, i.e., understand child growth and development; normal patterns of adolescent behavior and look for signs of normal aging, prior expense with various age groups is preferred.
