Your Opportunity

Scion is paving a path in student living, and we’re seeking a Manager of Corporate and Insurance Administration to join our team. This position will provide essential support to the Legal Department and to corporate and property operations teams by overseeing the establishment and qualification of new business entities, the making of required regulatory filings, the successful settlement of insurance claims, and supporting the company’s contracting process and compliance efforts.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a background in corporate legal and/or insurance administration.    

Your Responsibilities 

  • Prepare and submit all necessary documentation to create new business entities and to amend and update articles of formation for existing entities.
  • Secure EINs for new business entities.
  • File annual reports for all portfolio entities.
  • Manage the Claims administration team (currently two FTEs) and oversee all aspects of the making and collection of insurance claims on behalf of the Company and its managed properties.
  • Support property operations staff with clear and consistent information regarding the insurance claims process.
  • Monitor compliance with vendor insurance requirements.
  • Support annual insurance application and reporting processes.
  • Review and administer commercial contracts as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned by Staff Attorneys, the Vice President of Legal Affairs and/or the General Counsel.

What We Require

  • Bachelor’s degree required; paralegal or similar certification preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in a legal, insurance, or administrative role.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience administering compliance in a multi-jurisdictional portfolio is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and familiarity with Coupa and with property management systems is a plus.
  • Willingness to adhere to a 5-day in office schedule; this is not a remote position.

Operational Details

  • Job location is based at Scion’s Chicago corporate headquarters; occasional overnight travel is a possibility.
  • Working hours consist of standard daytime business hours.

The base salary range for this full-time position is base + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
