About the Job

As Manager of Consumer Experience (CX) Design within our Digital team, you will drive the vision and responsibility of providing world-class user experiences and lead product design globally for Sanofi products and ecosystem in our R&D and employee experience domains.

You will partner with CX strategists, researchers, Product Owners, and engineering teams to develop amazing user experiences. In this role, you will play a key strategic role in shaping and driving the future of Sanofi CX by exemplifying thought leadership, providing mentorship, and managing talented teams of product designers.

This position requires a blend of product vision, organizational leadership, and a high bar for craft. You will drive collaboration, transparency, and clarity between multiple teams and functions while cultivating a culture of user-centric design. Top-notch Product Design capabilities and Human-Centered Design process and methodologies are a must.

Main Responsibilities

Design team leadership

  • Responsible for all aspects of our product design function and overseeing design delivery at our global delivery hubs in U.S., Paris, Hyderabad/India and potentially Asia

  • Create and nurture a culture that cultivates talented User Experience teammates, solves complex

    design problems, and delivers simple product solutions.

  • Drive the unified user experience and design in collaboration with CX colleagues, business and

    technology leaders; respond to organizational changes as they occur

  • Manage a group of talented Product Design professionals to deliver high quality, on-time design

    deliverables, accounting for on-the-fly program needs and changes as they occur.

  • Attract, hire, and grow an excellent design team. Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship

    across a multi-disciplinary organization of interaction designers, visual designers,

    prototypers.

  • Facilitate success of direct reports in meeting their (and their team's) goals by supporting them in

    turning their strengths into higher performance, and by helping them grow where needed.

Design strategy and vision setting

  • Drive design innovation and engage team in emerging UX trends.

  • Lead all phases of UX

    design work: distilling research, design ideation, prototyping, final spec design, and

    implementation.

Operational excellence

  • Champion human-centered design and mature our lean UX practices across our team and at our delivery hubs

  • Integrate design within the Consumer Experience and digital development process and be an

    advocate for design within Digital, partner organizations and stakeholder groups.

  • Make tough calls around priorities and stand for quality when products are not ready to ship.

  • Drive design strategy, operational and execution excellence, while leading creative and holistic

    thinking at scale across diverse product releases, platforms and devices

  • Lead, evangelize and share best practices

  • Drive and document design standards, specifications, and patterns across products systemically

  • Collaborate with cross-team on process improvements and tool implementation to support those

    processes.

  • Keep well in touch with all areas of project management, to ensure that your team is on schedule

    and succeeding from a design standpoint - detailed project planning, budgeting, and team capacity

    planning in collaboration with cross-functional groups

  • Ensure approved projects remain within approved budgets through proper allocation of your staff

    and use of contract help when required

About You

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Design, HCI or related field. Master’s degree in relevant field a plus

  • 10+ years of experience creating strategy and designing products

  • Proven experience in creative/design operation and management experience is a must

  • Dynamic design portfolio that shows your design process, and shipped products is a must

  • Experience managing team of UX/Design professionals and delivering projects in a large scale, complex enterprise environment

  • Experience with iterative design sprints and lean, Agile development process

  • Advanced Product Design skills and Human-Centered design methods in practice that meet user needs and business goals

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex problems in developing holistic solutions for product and its UX ecosystems

  • Mastery of design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Miro, Adobe creative suite and other design tools

  • Expert knowledge and experience with Design Systems and all various platforms human interface guidelines: iOS, Android, LMS and connected platforms

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and an ability to prioritize and organize to meet tasks and deadlines

  • Deep understanding of web technologies such HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with Excellent communication skills with the ability to listen, articulate positions, and advocate designs.

  • Must be a vibrant and engaging communicator who can present concepts and ideas to all levels of the company

  • Familiarity with pharma/health technology is a plus.

The salary range for this position is:

$161,250.00 - $232,916.66
