Position Summary
The Manager, Network and Information Security is responsible for supervising and coordinating all IT support staff, activities and functions of assigned Epic Technical Services (ETS) teams. The Manager of Network Information and Security provides ongoing people, and technical leadership in support of CVS-Oaky values and objectives. This Manager is a charismatic leader who fosters high-performing teams through a constant focus on learning and skill development. Reports to the Senior Manager of Epic Technical Services.
The Manager of Network Information and Security oversees the Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) environments within and across healthcare organizations, including lower environments, production, testing, and training systems. They are the central point of coordination for changes, updates, and upgrades to ensure system stability and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities will include:
Environment and Change Management
Overseeing multiple environments: Managing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of multiple Epic environments, such as lower instances, production, disaster recovery, training, fix, and testing.
Coordinating Updates and Upgrades: Managing the planning, coordination, and execution of Epic updates (Epic Nova for RA/SU), version upgrades, and regular maintenance.
Defining Change Control Processes: Implementing and enforcing change control processes for the Epic system, including build migration using Epic's Data Courier and Content Management tools.
Coordinating System Activities: Organizing key activities including environment refreshes and data migrations.
Collaboration and Communication
Acting as a liaison: Serving as the bridge between Epic application teams, infrastructure teams, third-party hosting vendors, and Epic representatives.
Leading meetings: Chair meetings for the Change Control Board and other workgroups to ensure alignment and communication. Communicating effectively: Preparing and disseminating structured communications to project teams and end-users regarding upcoming changes, downtimes, and other environment activities.
Coordinating with vendors: Managing vendor relationships and serving as the main point of contact for technical issues and inquiries.
Monitoring and Support
Tracking and documenting: Maintaining documentation for environment versions, patch levels, and maintenance schedules.
Monitoring performance: Overseeing Epic system performance and troubleshoot issues related to Data Courier and Content Management. Reviewing Epic communications: Analyzing and acting on Patient Safety Escalations (PSE), Care Concern Bulletins (CCB), and Nova documentation from Epic.
Support testing: Collaborating with Quality Assurance (QA) teams on application and integrated testing for system upgrades.
Coordinating downtime: Participating in the planning and testing of downtime and disaster recovery procedures.
Growth: Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education, skills competency, supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor, and resource to less experienced staff.

The typical pay range for this role is:
$111,240.00 - $222,480.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
