Your role

You will be a part of PU Fighter Radar Designs management team. You will report to the Head of Fighter Radar Design.

As manager you will have an important role within this PU:

  • To lead the product design, maintenance and sustainment of our electronic warfare and missile electronics products with focus on High Frequency Functions (HFF) as antennas (AESA), Exciter / Receivers (EXR) etc.

  • To be responsible for and lead the design team of hardware and part of Firmware / Software (FW/SW) in tight cooperation with Saabs central design organization

  • To support technical aspects of the product unit’s design strategy, product roadmap and product release plans with focus on missile electronics HFF, AESA, EXR and FW/SW.

  • To keep up with recent technological development at suppliers and our competitors for our teams to stay competitive with our systems

  • Lead the unit in the Integrated Product Creation (IPC) process and applicable regulations

  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to align technology and modularization

  • To develop the efficiency of our hardware and software design’s ways of working

All with the main purpose of securing efficient and timely product development, quality and customer satisfaction.

Business Unit Fighter Core Capabilities is a business unit within Saab Surveillance and has around 2000 employees. The Business Unit provides airborne sensors, avionics and self-protection solutions and has a strong presence in the global defense and security markets.

The Product Unit Fighter Radar is responsible for the business of Fighter Radar, Weapon Data Link and Missile Electronics. Furthermore, we are responsible for technical development within Fire Control Radars and Electronic Counter Measure systems and drive substantial R&D programs with the latest sensor technology. Product Unit Fighter Radar has around 160 employees.

Are you our next Manager of Missile Electronics Design?

For this role, we are looking for someone who likes to develop and challenging themselves as well as its team members. To be successful in this position you need to have the ability to motivate and engage others but also be able to organize, prioritize and take decisions to improve performance and profitability.

 We also assume that you have:

  • Communicative, structured and performance driven ways of working

  • Strong business understanding, customer focus and product development experience

  • A genuine interest in complex technical product development especially in the HFF area

  • A good ability for cooperation inside saab’s organisation, across sites and with partners.

  • Ability to set short and long term strategy and goals for the product development

  • Ability to plan the product development to reach required time, cost and quality needed

  • Focus on importance of building cross functional relationships with both internal external stakeholders

Last but not least, you have the ability to create a collaborative work environment with transparency, respect and trust among your employees. You support Surveillance overall culture program “Together as One”.

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
