Job Summary:

The Manager, Membership Development is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the new business department, maximizing the sale of season ticket memberships for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Membership Development team’s efforts to sell season memberships and a full menu of ticketing options for the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings.

  • Manage the Membership Development team by tracking KPI’s, including outbound calls, face-to-face appointments, and other touchpoints.

  • Work closely with sales team to assist with ballpark/arena appointments and out-of-office meetings.

  • Assist in creating, implementing, and evaluating ticket sales strategies and plans to maximize sales volume.

  • Trains and manages all aspects of B2B and B2C sales; including prospecting, lead generation, networking, referrals and cold calling.

  • Responsible for recruiting, hiring, and development of Account Executives.

  • Manages game day schedules to effectively handle staffing requirements as needed.

  • Identifies, implements and enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures.

  • Other duties as assigned in collaboration with the IS+E Ticket Sales & Service Department.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5+ Sales experience in sports/entertainment.

  • Proven record of achieving sales goals/targets and motivating staff.

  • Proven track record in developing long-lasting business relations with corporate executives.

  • Must be creative, enthusiastic and possess excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to establish priorities and organize work; plan and direct the work of subordinate staff.

  • Demonstrated staff development skills to properly train, develop and motivate staff to meet objectives.

  • Ability to think strategically and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong judgment and strong problem resolution skills.

  • Ability to work with multiple internal contacts/department, external contacts and outside agencies.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business or Sports Management preferred.

  • 1+ year managing Inside Sales or Ticket Sales department preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment.

  • Evening, weekend, and holiday hours required
