Your Impact
We are seeking a Manager, Analytics Engineering to join our rapidly growing Analytics team - people passionate about working with digital data and other key data sources to deliver analysis-ready data for internal and external data analytics teams. Successful candidates will work with clients, internal business and technical stakeholders to support the evolution of our data architecture and reporting. Attention to detail and high standard for data quality are necessary. You will have the opportunity to work with various clients across different sectors. What You'll Do
1. You will own the data from end-to-end, including data import/export (in partnership with the Data Engineering team), transformation, and visualisation for the portfolio of your clients.
2. You'll work with the team on identifying data discrepancies, paying down tech debt, monitoring daily job execution, and diagnosing and fixing issues to ensure SLAs are met with internal partners.
3. Support the evolution of our data architecture and reporting across cross-functional teams.
4. Align with the Technical Quality Assurance (QA) team to make sure we have well-audited data in line with established best practices.
5. Support the Director on strategic and technical process improvements and innovation roadmap.
6. Understand the business context and translate stakeholder needs into ETL/ELT and dashboard requirements.
7. Ingest, transform, model, and aggregate the data that empowers teams company-wide and our clients to make sense of and tell stories with their data.
8. You’ll be working with data scientists, data analysts, and data engineers to provide clean, accurate, reliable analysis-ready data
Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior team members.
Who you are
1. 6+ years of working experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, data engineering, software development, database engineering, or technical data analytics roles supporting marketing or sales organizations.
2. Expertise in SQL and ETL optimisation techniques, especially within cloud-based data warehouses like Redshift, Snowflake, and BigQuery.
3. Experience with data ingestion tools (e.g., Funnel, Fivetran, Stitch).
4. Experience working directly with data feeds from platforms used by marketing teams like Google Marketing Platforms, Meta, Tiktok, and Trade Desk) and associated measurement tracking.
5. Expertise in ETL/ELT pipelines, analytical data modeling, aggregations, schema design, and dimensional data modeling.
6. Experience with Data Visualisation tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker for reporting and analysis.
7. Excellent communication skills, especially when distilling technical or complex matters into clear and concise explanations for senior leaders and less technical partners.
8. Ability to use tools, business intuition, and impeccable attention to detail for data validation and QA.
9. Proven ability to architect and implement efficient data models and optimize high-throughput data pipelines.
10. Strong communication skills in writing and conversation, including writing engineering training documentation.
11. Proven technical leadership in project delivery.
12. A high degree of motivation to be proactive and go above and beyond the task at hand.
Nice to Have
1. BS degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or a related technical field.
2. Experience in consulting and/or advertising industry is preferred.
3. Fluent in Python and Excel.
4. Knowledge of at least one leading Web Analytics platform, preferably Adobe Analytics. Additional expertise in Google Analytics and other leading tools is preferred.
