Discover Impactful Work:

The Manufacturing Planning Manager leads a high-performing team responsible for production planning and order execution across a ~$100M+ consumables portfolio within a growing chemistry manufacturing site. This role oversees order management and material handling operations, ensuring seamless execution from planning through fulfillment.  We’re seeking an analytical, forward-thinking leader who leverages systems, advanced Excel, and data visualization to improve supply-demand visibility, protect revenue, and enable growth. They thrive in fast-paced settings, create structure from ambiguity, and champion continuous improvement.

A Day in the Life:

You will own Master Production Scheduling (MPS), capacity planning, backlog management, and global fulfillment coordination across a complex, high-mix SKU portfolio. The environment includes regulated chemical compounds, Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements, and a dynamic multi-line production schedule.

Planning & Execution

  • Develop and manage the Master Production Schedule aligned to demand forecasts and capacity constraints
  • Lead daily and weekly planning activities across multiple production lines
  • Drive backlog management, order execution, and escalations to protect service levels and revenue timing
  • Partner cross-functionally to optimize production processes, mitigate disruptions, and execute recovery plans
  • Evaluate capacity requirements and adjust supply plans to support business growth
  • Optimize inventory to balance customer service performance and working capital targets
  • Participate in SIOP/S&OP processes to align demand, supply, and financial objectives
  • Communicate production schedules, supply risks, and performance metrics to stakeholders

Digital & Analytical Leadership

  • Analyze ERP and production data to identify trends, constraints, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead master data governance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance
  • Build advanced data models to support scenario planning and risk mitigation
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools to provide actionable insights to diverse audiences
  • Identify automation and digitization opportunities to enhance planning accuracy and efficiency
  • Apply lean principles to reduce waste and improve operational performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team in a high-growth environment
  • Drive accountability, engagement, and strong performance management

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing planning or supply chain operations
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Experience participating in SIOP/S&OP processes

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Advanced Excel skills and strong ERP proficiency
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage complexity in high-mix production environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in chemical or consumables manufacturing
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization tools
  • Experience with Python and/or SQL for data automation and analysis
  • Experience managing high SKU complexity and dynamic production schedules
  • Experience with Lean or PPI methodologies

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $112,500.00–$150,000.00.
