Cannon Automotive Solutions, a division Cleveland-Cliffs Tooling and Stamping, has an immediate opportunity for a Manager Logistics in our Bowling Green, Kentucky Stamping Facility. The Manager Logistics is responsible for Plan, direct, and coordinate purchasing, warehousing, distribution, forecasting, customer service, or planning services. Summary of Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct, and coordinate warehousing, distribution, forecasting, customer service, or planning services.
- Manage logistics personnel and logistics systems and direct daily operations.
- Monitor all customer portals enter responses as needed.
- Complete required customer training.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency to Corporate Logistics.
- Monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems.
- Collaborate with Corporate Logistics on policies or procedures for logistics activities.
- Maintain material flow management systems to meet production requirements.
- Train shipping department personnel in roles or responsibilities regarding corporate logistics policies and strategies.
- Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs, or training or safety records.
- Follow customer specific requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
- Report out on Cycle counts and expedites in Supply Chain meetings.
- Work with Corporate Logistics to resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
- Work with Corporate Logistics to monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
- Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit, C-TPAT and delivery.
- Supervise the work of logistics specialists, planners, or schedulers.
- Recommend purchase of new or improved technology, such as automated systems.
- Work with Corporate Logistics to develop risk management process to ensure continuity of supply in emergency scenarios for logistics.
- Plan or implement improvements to internal or external logistics systems or processes.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or process, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping.
- Support Corporate Logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of transporting products or supplies.
- Direct or coordinate comprehensive logistical or reverse logistical functions for product life cycles, including distribution, internal allocation, delivery, recycling reuse, or final disposal of resources following established policies and procedures such as obsolescence process.
- Conduct or review environmental audits for logistics activities such as storage, distribution, or transportation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years of Materials Experience (Shipping and Receiving)
- Experience with LEAN Manufacturing philosophy
- Ability to work all shifts (days, afternoons, midnights)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Metal stamping and/or assembly background
- Strong organizing, planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to train personnel
- Knowledge of computers
- Ability to retain information and communicate effectively
