We aren't just looking for a manager; we're looking for a leader who can personally "hunt" and close new business while simultaneously teaching, mentoring, and developing a team of Account Executives to become elite sales professionals themselves.

This is a critical leadership role focused on strategically growing our local revenue across all platforms, from broadcast and streaming TV to our full suite of digital solutions. If you excel at building revenue from the ground up and inspiring others to do the same, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact at a market-leading station.

Your Core Mission & Responsibilities:

•    Coach & Develop Your Team: This is a true coaching role. You will hire, train, and mentor your Account Executives, embedding powerful business development skills. Your success will be measured by your team's growth and achievement.
•    Drive Strategy & High-Level Sales: Actively participate in high-stakes client meetings, lead strategic proposal development, and manage complex negotiations with local and regional advertisers.
•    Be the Expert: Champion our full suite of products, with a special emphasis on our strengths in Live Sports, Local News, and Digital Video, to create compelling, solution-based proposals.
•    Manage Key Initiatives: Oversee the go-to-market strategy for key station sponsorships and initiatives, maximizing revenue and advertiser success.
•    Assist in Overseeing Sales Operations: Assist General Sales Manager in managing pricing, inventory control, and daily log management in close collaboration with our Traffic/Copy team to ensure efficiency and maximize revenue.

Qualifications of Our Ideal Candidate:
•    A "Hunter" Mentality: You must have a demonstrable and consistent track record of successful new business development. You lead by example in finding and closing new revenue.
•    A "Coach's" Heart: You have proven, hands-on experience coaching, mentoring, and developing sales professionals. You know how to give actionable feedback and motivate a team.
•    Media Sales Expertise: Minimum of 5 years in media/advertising sales, with local and/or national television sales experience highly preferred.
•    Strategic Leadership: Strong, collaborative leadership skills that foster creativity, innovation, and a high-performance culture.
•    Data-Driven: Full knowledge and understanding of audience measurement tools (Nielsen, Comscore) and research products (Scarborough, Media Monitors).
•    Exceptional Communicator: Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for leading your team and building client relationships.
•    Driven & Detailed: You must have the ability to work under daily deadlines with strong attention to detail.

Preferred:
•    Bachelor’s degree from a four-year university or college in a related field.
