Team Summary
GAF is seeking a Manager, Litigation Technologies to support the company’s Legal team. This role is critical in promoting and ensuring the effective use of current litigation technology to company matters. This position is based in our Parsippany, NJ corporate headquarters which currently operates on a hybrid in-office schedule. Though employees are welcome to work in our office on Friday, this position must be performed in-office on Monday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely from the employee's home office on Friday.

Job Summary
The Manager, Litigation Technologies will be responsible for identifying, preserving, collecting, and processing electronically stored information (ESI) related to claims, litigation and internal investigations. The Manager of Litigation Technologies collaborates with the Legal and Information Technology teams to ensure that established eDiscovery processes are followed and to enhance and drive forward the company's eDiscovery program strategy. Primary responsibilities include: consultation with internal business partners and external vendors, review and supervision of service providers and vendors, project tracking, database creation and maintenance, data handling, and training for new and existing internal discovery tools. Also responsible for identifying new software and applications necessary to meet Legal Department needs and established Information Technology guidelines. The ideal candidate has strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to effectively communicate complex solutions to all stakeholders.

Essential Duties

  • Ability to execute projects within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.

  • Knowledge of currently available PC-based litigation software applications.

  • Identify potential software needs and necessary improvements.

  • Oversee imaging of devices by IT to ensure forensic integrity.

  • Establish and implement best known eDiscovery practices and standards.

  • Work with IT and legal teams in supporting the Litigation Hold and eDiscovery process.

  • Track storage usage and ensure proper data cleansing both internally and on our third party platforms.

  • Load native files, text files and images into litigation databases.

  • Perform quality checks on images produced by vendors and follow-up as appropriate.

  • Create and maintain document databases for all litigation and legal matters.

  • Work as a systems-engineer to develop data storage solutions within our existing systems.

  • Assist with integration of eDiscovery practices and company-wide data storage.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and compile complex data into professional presentation formats.

  • Continuously review and improve the Litigation Hold and eDiscovery process.

  • Assist in implementation of retention policies as related to data storage.

  • Experience in managing and coordinating with external service providers.

  • Comfortable evaluating current workflows and recommending improvements.

  • Understanding the mechanics of Large Language Models (LLMs) and predictive analytics/AI models

  • Serve as primary liaison/eDiscovery subject matter expert between business and the legal staff.

  • Support training efforts relating to existing and new software to litigation department staff and attorneys,

  • Report directly to Legal on all related matters, and establish solid rapport with business leaders (HR, IT, Corporate).

  • Collaborate on a daily basis with attorneys, paralegals, outside counsel and service providers to discuss, plan and organize litigation discovery tasks and strategies.


Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree required OR

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field

  • 8+ years of experience in the e-discovery field preferably managing IT projects.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Certified eDiscovery Specialist (ACEDS) or completion of AI Bootcamp.

  • Comprehensive grasp of the eDiscovery lifecycle and the capacity to align discovery requirements with retention policies.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for quickly mastering emerging technologies and new systems.

  • Background in developing internal tools or working within development environments.

  • Prior experience providing eDiscovery services within a corporate legal department or law firm.

  • Proven success in collaborating with diverse stakeholders to resolve records management and discovery issues.

  • Skill in delivering projects on time and within technical and budget parameters.

  • Advanced skills in organization, prioritization, and time management.

  • Ability to be productive both as an individual contributor and as a team member.

  • A focus on accuracy, high precision, and efficient workflow management.

  • Proficiency in problem-solving and data management, paired with excellent interpersonal communication.

  • Superior analytical and troubleshooting expertise.

  • Resilient and flexible in evolving workplaces, with the ability to work with minimal oversight.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks under pressure.

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses. Individual compensation offers will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant candidate experience and skill, education, and/or qualifications.

Base Salary Range: $140,000-$192,500
