To manage and control all aspects of the Liquor Store in order to maximise turnover, profitability, and customer satisfaction while ensuring full compliance with liquor legislation, company policies, merchandising standards, and operational procedures.Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 (essential)
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory role
Previous experience in a Wine/Liquor department or managing a retail department
Knowledge of liquor products, trends, and responsible trading requirements
Experience working with SAP or similar retail systems (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities:
Merchandising Management
Execute the approved plano guide 100% in line with company standards
Ensure correct stock rotation in accordance with SOPs on the sales floor and in back-up areas
Maintain merchandising, cleanliness, and presentation standards throughout the trading day
Implement promotional space standards and action all promotional communications accurately
Ensure back-up areas are maintained to standard, with all stock represented on the sales floor
Identify and escalate ongoing stock availability issues to the Store Manager
Ensure Health & Safety standards and processes are followed at all times
Understand customer needs and communicate insights to Demand Planning
Systems & Stock Management
Conduct gap scanning to identify out-of-stocks and over-stocks
Identify, count, record, and report stock discrepancies accurately
Extract Excel reports from SAP and complete required stock reporting for Demand Planning
Process IDTs via SAP in line with SOPs
Action “reduce to clear” processes accurately on SAP
Regularly monitor and respond to electronic communications during the workday
Customer Service Management
Deliver excellent customer service in line with brand standards
Handle customer complaints and special requests professionally and timeously
Advise customers on liquor products, trends, and promotions
People Management & Development
Evaluate performance of direct reports against agreed objectives and standards
Review staffing requirements and provide input into staff scheduling and rostering
Communicate new initiatives, store updates, and department performance to staff
Motivate, coach, and develop employees to achieve operational and sales targets
Identify training needs and support continuous development
Finance & Administration
Ensure all equipment is maintained in effective working order
Monitor and maintain general maintenance standards within the department
Control departmental expenses in line with budget expectations
Monitor financial results and investigate deviations from budget
Manage waste and ensure adherence to waste control procedures
