Job Description:
The FinOps Manager is responsible for establishing, operating, and continuously improving FinOps governance, monitoring, and execution across the organization. This role ensures consistent operation of FinOps processes, effective monitoring of financial and operational metrics, and adherence to internal and enterprise standards as FinOps scales.
The role provides operational leadership and clear accountability across FinOps activities, contributing to the long‑term maturity and resilience of the FinOps operating model.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Own and operate FinOps governance, monitoring, and execution processes across assets and stakeholders
Design, implement, and maintain monitoring frameworks, controls, and KPIs
Ensure ongoing adherence to FinOps standards and enterprise policies
Act as the primary owner for operational issues, risk identification, and escalations
Develop, document, and maintain FinOps policies, procedures, and BAU processes
Drive consistent cross‑functional execution with Finance, Technology, and Business teams
Identify operational gaps and implement improvements to support scale and maturity
Support continuity and resilience of the FinOps function through strong operational leadership
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field
7+ years of experience in financial operations, governance, or related roles, preferably in technology or cloud environments
Proven experience owning and running operational processes with clear accountability
Strong understanding of governance frameworks, controls, and monitoring practices
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Ability to operate independently and manage complex scope
Preferred:
Experience in FinOps or cloud cost management
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Experience with enterprise control, risk, or compliance frameworks
Familiarity with Well‑Architected Framework (WAF) or similar models
