Purpose:
The Investment Finance team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for preparing and assisting in the preparation of the investment quarterly/annual disclosures and reporting for Athene. This includes providing financial statement analysis, variance analysis, and financial results messaging to Athene's leadership. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with specific experience in GAAP and Statutory reporting.
Accountabilities:
- Responsible for investment reporting on a GAAP and Statutory basis.
- Prepare quarterly and annual 10Q/10K and MD&A investment disclosures.
- Assist with SEC reporting requirements and respond to Investor/Analyst questions.
- Support the financial analysis of operating results, balance sheets, and other key performance indicators.
- Maintain and update process documentation and support audit requests to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Support new assumed reinsurance initiatives and reporting considerations for strategic transactions.
- Lead/Drive transformation within the Investment Finance area enhancing investment reporting capabilities.
- Builds and fosters close relationships with Apollo, Investment Accounting, Financial Reporting, and IT business areas.
- Develop and lead a team of professionals by setting expectations, mentoring and coaching, driving results, sharing strategic direction, collaborating and communicating effectively.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years directly relatable technical experience
- 2+ years of direct or indirect team leadership experience
- CPA, MBA, or CFA a plus
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of investment types and related reporting preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP and Statutory financial accounting regulations a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required
