We are looking for an experienced Manager, Internal Controls for our Group Finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, maintaining and developing the Group’s internal control framework, ensuring reliable financial and sustainability reporting, effective risk management and compliance with IFRS and listed company requirements, in close co-operation with management, auditors and the Audit Committee. You will lead the Group Financial Internal Controls operations, providing guidance and oversight to ensure effective controls are embedded throughout all finance processes.  You coordinate internal and external audits related to internal controls, supporting the group’s compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring and reporting on the effectiveness of internal controls, and collaborating with stakeholders to address control gaps. 


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective group wide internal controls after the reorganization of Shared service function and Business area separation are in place in finance. 
  • Ensure that group level Internal controls include flowcharts of key processes with key control steps. Ensure the integration to finance processes (Consolidation, General Ledger function, Invoice-to-Pay, Invoice-to-Cash, etc.). 
  • Monitor and review regularly that finance control steps have proper documentation in all the group functions and both Business Areas 
  • Align internal controls with relevant external requirements and internal policies (Group Risk mgmt. policy, Accounting policy, Treasury policy etc.) 
  • Monitor the development and inclusion in Fiskars policies. Ensure that internal controls are updated in connection of system and process updates. Especially ERP, reporting tools and HFM updates. 
  • Promote continuous development  
  • Support the coordination with finance and internal audit function 
  • Ensure effective communication and training on internal controls for whole group 

Qualifications:

  • Master or Bachelor Degree in Accounting   
  • 5+ years of experience in a role with Internal Controls compliance role (similar role or auditor background)
  • Strong IFRS and group consolidation process knowledge required 
  • Corporate governance knowledge   
  • Stock Exchange listed entity understanding  
  • Experience of leading projects   
  • Knowledge of consolidation tools, knowledge of ERP financial systems   
  • Understanding of internal controls concept  
  • Excellent skills in English and Finnish (English is our daily working language, Finnish is the language of our official financial statement)
  • Ability to work in a matrixed, international environment
  • Continuous drive to improve and enhance processes in an efficient manner
  • Ability to see the big picture, with attention to detail
