We are seeking a strategic and creative Internal Communications Manager to strengthen how Carter’s communicates with employees across our global organization. This role will develop and deliver clear, consistent, and engaging communications that connect our employees to our company strategy, culture, and brands. This role reports to the Sr Director, PR & Corporate Communications and is based in our Buckhead Office location on site 4 days/week.
40% - Internal Communications Strategy & Planning
- Develop and execute communication strategies that drive engagement and support Carter’s Inc. business priorities.
- Partner with HR, Marketing, and business units to ensure consistent, culturally relevant messaging.
- Partner with executives and senior leaders to craft clear, authentic, and inspiring messages for company-wide initiatives.
- Develop talking points, scripts, and FAQs for leadership updates, town halls, and employee forums.
- Advise leaders on communication best practices to build trust and transparency.
35% - Content & Channel Management
- Own and manage Carter’s internal communication channels, including intranet, newsletters, town halls, and digital signage.
- Write and edit compelling content that celebrates employees, highlights our brands, and reinforces our culture.
- Maintain the editorial calendar, ensuring timely, relevant, and consistent storytelling across the organization.
25% - Change Management & Engagement
- Lead communications for organizational initiatives, change programs, and culture-building efforts with clarity and empathy.
- Develop communication plans that help employees adapt to change and stay connected to Carter’s values.
- Measure the effectiveness of communications through feedback and engagement analytics, using insights to continuously improve.
Must Have:
- 5–7+ years of internal or corporate communications experience.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with an ability to simplify complex information.
- Experience supporting change management and executive communications.
- Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools (intranets, newsletters, Slack/Teams, CMS).
- A passion for Carter’s mission of supporting families and building an inspiring employee culture.
Preferred Skills & Experiences:
- Experience in retail, consumer products, or lifestyle brands, ideally in a multi-brand portfolio.
- Background in communications for a geographically dispersed workforce, including corporate, retail, and distribution center employees.
- Prior experience supporting executive communications and leadership visibility programs.
- Exposure to change management and organizational transformation initiatives.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, seasonal business with shifting priorities.
