What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Extensive experience (7+ years) in cybersecurity with a focus on data loss prevention and insider threat.
  • Experience managing tiered security operations (e.g., L1/L2) with defined escalation paths and playbooks.
  • Deep experience with data loss prevention (DLP), insider threat detection, and user and entity behavior analytics (UEBA) capabilities such as Microsoft Purview, Symantec, Proofpoint, Netskope, Forcepoint, DTEX, etc.
  • Proven record of excellent leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in defining and reporting KPIs related to alert volume, response time, and incident trends.
  • Experience operating in a regulated environment with a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and their practical implications, including PCI-DSS, GDPR, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), NYDFS, and other data protection / privacy regulations.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks such as CIS, ISO 27001, and/or NIST CSF as well as industry best practices.

We'd Love to See:

  • Certifications such as GIAC GSOC, GCIA, or Insider Threat Program Manager (ITPM) are a plus.

Impact You'll Make:

TransUnion’s Global Information Security organization is seeking a passionate and experienced leader to join our Global Insider Threat Program as Manager – Insider Threat Operations. In this role, you will oversee a team focused on the operational detection and prevention of insider threats, ensuring that TransUnion’s critical data assets are safeguarded. In this high-impact role, you will lead a globally dispersed team of professionals and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure rapid response to insider threat alerts and optimal monitoring performance, and work closely with peers to continuously identify opportunities to enhance capabilities.

  • Team Leadership - Lead an organization of ~10 Insider Threat analysts within this critical functional area, define team goals aligned with Cyber Defense objectives, set clear expectations, and foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Operational Execution – Leverage tools owned by the Insider Threat Engineering team and broader InfoSec to monitor, triage, and escalate alerts.  Ensure effective operational processes and mature monitoring/response capabilities within:
    • Level 1: provide 24x7 alert triage and initial response to insider threat indicators.
    • Level 2: conduct deeper behavioral analysis to proactively identify high-risk activity and potential account compromise.
       
  • Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Insider Threat Engineering and Investigation teams within the Global Insider Threat Program and our partner Security Engineering organization to ensure seamless insider threat monitoring capabilities and response. Additionally, you will engage with TransUnion’s global business units to ensure protection against the loss of data assets while also supporting the enablement of the business.
  • Continuous Improvement - Define KPIs and deliver regular reports to executive leadership on program effectiveness, incident trends, and risk posture.
  • Data Protection Compliance - Stay up to date with global data protection laws and regulations to ensure that TransUnion’s insider risk management practices meet or exceed the requirements in all global regions that TransUnion operates.
  • Mentoring and Team Development – Support the development of team members through mentoring, industry engagement / knowledge sharing, and training opportunities.

This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.

Pay Scale Information :

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $120,000.00 - $200,000 annually. *The salary range for this position reflects a reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this job. At TransUnion, actual compensation is based on careful consideration of additional factors such as (but not limited to) an individual’s education, training, work experience, job-related skill set, location, and industry knowledge, as well as the scope and responsibilities of the position and market considerations.

Regular, fulltime non-sales positions may be eligible to participate in TransUnion’s annual bonus plan. Certain positions may be also eligible for long-term incentives and other payments based on applicable company guidance and plan documents.
