Position Overview
The Mgr, Independent Promotions is responsible for leading, planning, and executing promotional strategies for Independent customers. The Mgr, Independent Promotions, is responsible for driving relationships and promoting sales opportunities with assigned customer/regional teams to drive gross margin. The Mgr, Independent Promotions is responsible for working with the Commercial Planning team and Category teams to ensure plans are designed to enable retailers to achieve agreed-upon margin targets. The Mgr, Independent Promotions, is responsible for developing and communicating promotional plans, including cost, suggested pricing, and product in support of national and regional sales opportunities. Responsible for leading cross-functional weekly ad meetings. The Mgr, Independent Promotions is predominantly customer-facing and plays a key role internally, providing local and regional expertise to customers and internal teams. The Mgr, Independent Promotions, will work with Demand Planning and Category teams to manage seasonal allocations, regional and seasonal fluctuations, and flawless innovation for new item launches. The Mgr, Independent Promotions, works closely with retailers and the internal teams to maximize retail sales and promote warehouse purchases.

- Lead execution of Merchandising and Promotional plans with Independent customers.
- Responsible for leading, communicating, and ensuring product, cost, pricing, and promotions are aligned with customer needs.
- In partnership and coordination with category managers and merchandisers, negotiate with vendors to develop overlay programs for ad groups, including negotiating for vendor funds to support regional marketing programs and amplify selling opportunities.
- Responsible for assisting in building and implementing promotional plans, including item, cost, suggested retail price, product selection, and supporting ads that deliver on growth objectives.
- Responsible for providing competitive insights and customer feedback to Category teams to ensure the most competitive plans are developed to drive sales and achieve financial targets.
- Partners with the Category team to ensure local programs are represented.
- Responsible for ensuring the plan to optimize return on promotional investment through trade promotion, customer-specific marking, and additional sales opportunities.
- Responsible for negotiating overlays and securing additional funding to drive incremental sales and gross for C&S and Independent Customers.
- Provide insights and analysis around competitive performance, category and sales opportunities, and historical performance, including price points and results, to ensure the best promotional plan to drive sales and deliver margin.
- Responsible for leading weekly ad proofing sessions and providing feedback to category teams and marketing as needed for subs, swaps, and canceled promotions.
- Serve as the liaison between Category Team and Customers to communicate information necessary to ad group retailers and applicable personnel to ensure the successful execution of advertising and marketing programs.
- Responsible for managing the regional calendar of promotional activities as a subset of activities aligned with the corporate merchandising calendar.
- Collaborate with Category teams and Commercial Teams to educate internal stakeholders and customers on existing trends and what's working.
- Responsible for communicating with Demand Planning on promotional forecasting and managing seasonal allocations, regional and seasonal fluctuations, and flawless innovation for new item launches.
- Complete relative pricing evaluation and prepare the front page layout for "How to go to market strategy" and share with Independent customers to ensure alignment.

Skills
- Strong Financial acumen Proven communication skills and ability to lead cross functional initiatives
- Working knowledge of marketing and promotions and key strategies including Ad, Digital and Print
- Well organized and ability to lead with impact and influence across teams
- Travel can be up to 20% - 30%
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business is preferred
Years Of Experience
- 5-7 years professional experience in advertising, marketing, promotions, or sales. Wholesale/retail experience preferred.
