General Summary:
This role is responsible for driving the effective operation, performance, and execution of Unum’s Employee Networks (ENs) and Inclusion Network programming. The role ensures operational discipline, program excellence, and governance adherence across all EN and inclusion initiatives. This position owns end to end logistics, program delivery workflows, stakeholder coordination, and data integrity ensuring consistent, high impact execution of all Inclusion Network programs and I&D events. The Manager applies sound judgment, proactive planning, and operational leadership to deliver seamless experiences for employees, EN leaders, and stakeholders. The Manager serves as an operational partner to EN leaders and the I&D team, leading coordination efforts, managing communication workflows, and ensuring alignment and execution across the full Inclusion Network portfolio.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Own execution and continual improvement of governance processes, toolkits, onboarding guides, and planning templates established by the Director.
- Lead day‑to‑day EN operations, including scheduling, documentation, communications routing, and follow‑up.
- Serve as the primary operational partner for EN leaders, ensuring timely support, guidance, and resource access.
- Ensure completeness, accuracy, and accessibility of EN records, leadership rosters, and internal resource repositories.
- Lead logistics for Inclusion Network programs, events, meetings, and activities, including room bookings, vendor coordination, speaker scheduling, technology setup, and day‑of support.
- Own production deliverables such as agendas, run‑of‑show, invitations, presentation materials, and coordination workflows.
- Support execution of enterprise inclusion events led by the Director or Senior I&D team (e.g., cultural moment events, Inclusion Summit), ensuring operational excellence.
- Conduct initial drafting and quality review of RFP/RFI/survey responses to ensure accuracy before escalation and final approval.
- Develop and deliver EN communications including announcements, meeting follow‑ups, newsletters input, and event promotions.
- Maintain content and updates for EN pages, SharePoint sites, and internal communication channels in partnership with I&D Communications.
- Manage EN leader engagement touchpoints, including scheduling, preparation materials, and follow‑through on actions and decisions.
- Perform content research to strengthen and inform the I&D communications strategy.
- Maintain and safeguard Inclusion Network leadership data and EN metrics, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Track activity data, participation, and feedback; prepare reporting dashboards and summaries for the Director.
- Support development of Inclusion Network scorecards, executive summaries, and year‑end reports with timely, high‑quality data inputs.
- Design, administer, and analyze internal surveys to provide insight-driven program improvements.
- Monitor EN budget spend, track invoices, and prepare documentation for Director review.
- Manage vendor documentation, contract routing, and payment processing in partnership with Source to Pay and Finance.
- Manage recurring EN leader meetings, including scheduling, materials preparation, action‑item tracking, and documentation.
- Provide operational support and materials preparation for the I&D Advisory Board and Inclusion Business Champions as needed.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in I&D program management, Employee Networks, human resources, stakeholder engagement, or culture/change initiatives.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and project management skills with the ability to execute multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships and partnerships with others, at all levels and roles across the enterprise.
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to support leaders through influence without owning strategic decisions.
- Proficiency with MS Office; experience with SharePoint or other content management platforms preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, operational discipline, and follow through.

- Ability to partner, collaborate and work strategically with cross-functional teams to drive overall solutions, while appropriately anticipating and managing issues and risks and large-scale change management.

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.
$63,500.00-$120,000.00
Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
