Manager Global Technical Sales (Medical Device / Advanced Drug Delivery Systems)

Leverage unparalleled product knowledge and significant technical expertise in industry to secure new client opportunities in achieving PCI growth targets. Collaborate with key internal resources and client contacts to enable proposal development support, including developing complex business proposals and translating sophisticated business principles to key technical customer decision makers. Support both global business expansion across PCI’s network and success in winning high margin business opportunities. Engender business growth with client discussions that require technical assistance and provide more value to the client in facilitating the industry leading experience. Drive efficiency in business development output: increasing win percentage and increasing bid opportunities. Identify potential targets as well as author differentiated proposals influential in key business wins. Provide a global view around market trends and assist in developing market strategies. Develop, Monitor and Report on key business analytics to ensure best execution and client alignment. Drive the seamless execution of our integrated offerings to ensure the client stays within our network.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Opportunity Development

  • Actively market PCI as the most technically capable and innovative solution provider

  • Identify potential targets, report on results, identify improvement initiatives to address gaps based on client feedback

  • Author comprehensive and market differentiating proposals with Wow factor

  • Lead and facilitate in-person sales/qualification activities to secure wins

Technical sales:

  • Orchestrate business development with technical client discussions and qualification activities.  Organize internal technical SME's, rationalize PCI approach, engage teams to ensure high quality communication and action plans based on opportunity dynamics

  • Suggest new proposed solutions and technologies to address market trends, gaps, innovations.  Translate impact, investment needs, resource requirements to functional leads and site teams.

  • Consult with clients to identify potential solutions and optimal product selection.  Utilize unparalleled technical and industry knowledge to influence successful client outcomes.

Proposal development:

  • Orchestrate comprehensive proposal development to assure the right level of delivery & content for client.  Ensure a difference maker solution to delight client and secure wins.

  • Increase business efficiency:  Increase total output of proposals as well as increased win percentage

Business analytics / Trends / strategy development & execution:

  • Gather, analyze and report on business opportunity status, wins/losses, gaps

  • Support effort to incorporate next-gen approach to leverage capabilities of Salesforce.com and supplemental platforms (as applicable) in business reporting and business analytics

  • Gather and report KPI's relative to goal attainment

  • Identify gaps or opportunities

Seamless Development & Manufacturing-Clinical-Commercial execution:

  • Support and engender D&M/Clinical/Commercial sales-ops for business conversion of cross-segment integrated opportunities

  • Gather client VOC feedback

Champion innovative and consultative offerings, implementing value pricing:

  • Help cultivate and engender service oriented business solutions for clients.  Actively educate and sell solutions for clients in need.

  • This position may require travel by car and/or airplane up to 50% This position may require overtime and/or weekend work. Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules. Attendance to work is an essential function of this position Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 4-6 years related experience and/or training.

  • College Level Mathematical Skills

  • Advanced Computer Skills: Ability to perform the most complex computer tasks and operate various computer programs.   

  • Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.

  • High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.

  • High standard of report writing.

Preferred:

  • Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.

  • Ability to display excellent time management skills.

  • Ability to show success in managing employees.

  • Ability to travel.

  • Packaging and Manufacturing experience preferred, with a good understanding of materials, processes, and related costs.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and multi-task and prioritize workloads
