The Manager, Global Intelligence for Major League Baseball will support the Director, Global Intelligence in monitoring, evaluating, and drafting analytic assessments on potential and emerging risks that may impact MLB executives, personnel, players, facilities, and other assets. They will play an important leadership role in ensuring the team maintains real-time situational awareness by collecting, analyzing, drafting, and disseminating threat intelligence information across the organization and with the 30 Clubs and ballparks, as necessary. They will apply foundational skills in open-source intelligence collection, research, report writing, and editing, while leading other teammates to do the same. This role requires a working knowledge of threat monitoring, intelligence analysis, global security trends, and relevant data and information source tools.

The Manager, Global Intelligence must work effectively with international, federal, state, tribal, and local law enforcement, including organizations such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, United States Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security, and local law enforcement to ensure relevant intelligence information is shared in a timely fashion.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team as analysts identify and assess relevant risks, vulnerabilities, and emerging threats; produce timely, actionable intelligence assessments to support enterprise-wide security, threat management, and executive protection operations
  • Conduct research across open-source intelligence (OSINT), social media platforms, and the deep/dark web to detect threats with potential impact to MLB and relevant stakeholders
  • Develop unique intelligence products for MLB executives that assess threats impacting the organization and the 30 Clubs; guide analysts on the team to do the same
  • Monitor global geopolitical developments and assess the potential impact on international travel, MLB Global Events, and business operations; provide timely updates and situational reports
  • Support MLB’s executive protection program with analytic and pre-operational briefings, as needed
  • Lead the team of analysts as they work to identify information gaps, develop intelligence requirements, and enhance early threat detection capabilities
  • Coordinate closely with Club security personnel to ensure seamless intelligence integration and situational awareness
  • Conduct risk assessments on potential security department vendors, independent contractors, and other business partners to identify reputational or operational vulnerabilities
  • Ensure that intelligence analysis is consistent with U.S. Intelligence Community analytic tradecraft standards, sports industry and corporate intelligence best practices, and aligned with the business needs of MLB
  • Represent MLB in appropriate professional organizations and continuing education programs
  • Perform other related duties as directed by Department leadership

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of eight years of intelligence collection, analysis, and dissemination experience
  • Ability to perform comprehensive research and analysis using multiple unclassified sources and synthesize relevant information for customers across MLB and the 30 Clubs
  • Proven ability to represent organizations with U.S. law enforcement and intelligence personnel
  • Track record of collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish tasks as directed by supervisors
  • Experience in managing deliverables with time-sensitive deadlines
  • Proven record of operating in a dynamic, fast-moving environment and implementing new ideas to drive the program forward
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to conduct briefings that present clear logic, account for uncertainty, incorporate alternative analysis, and demonstrate customer relevance for the executive decision-making process
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with appropriate discretion
  • This position is based in New York City and is not eligible for remote work
  • This position requires some shift work outside normal business hours
  • Ability to obtain a federal security clearance is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe products

Salary Range: $110,000 - $140,000 (Base Salary) + Bonus

As a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
