About the role

Global Clinical Solutions (GCS) drives delivery of enterprise services and technology for AstraZeneca’s internal and external stakeholders. We enable Clinical Development programs to deliver to time, cost, and quality across all models. As a Manager within GCS Services, you will coordinate, lead, and continuously improve enterprise-wide central support for clinical systems and core License to Operate processes, with a focus on CTMS, eTMF, and related submissions and disclosures. You will be a key partner to study teams, functional leaders, and vendors, ensuring business continuity, compliance, and operational excellence.

What you’ll do

  • Enterprise Service Delivery: Coordinate and deliver GCS services for CTMS, eTMF, and License to Operate processes, ensuring robust lifecycle management and business continuity.

  • Process & Tool Support: Provide expert central support for:

    • eTMF & CTMS submissions

    • Financial Disclosure support

    • Safety Letter distributions

    • Outsourced studies oversight and coordination

  • User Enablement: Conduct process/system/tool trainings, facilitate knowledge sharing, establish best practices, and maintain proactive communication across GCS and AZ stakeholder groups.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead Lean/Lean Six Sigma–aligned improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of systems/services/processes; develop business cases and track delivery outcomes.

  • Performance & Compliance: Evaluate and monitor service performance, manage risks and issues with effective escalation and governance usage, and support implementation of changes across functions.

  • Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a knowledge source in assigned service domains; embed change culture and continuous improvement mindsets within teams.

  • Knowledge Management: Curate and reuse lessons learned to inform future activities and service enhancements.

Essential skills/experience

  • Education: University degree in a related discipline, preferably biological sciences or healthcare (medicine, nursing), or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in Drug Development within a pharmaceutical or clinical environment; exposure to multiple clinical development fields.

  • Methodologies: Experience applying standard process improvement methods (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) to diagnose root causes and deliver improvements.

  • Quality & Compliance: Some experience with Quality Systems/Quality Management, process definition and improvement; understanding of ICH GCP guidelines relevant to study delivery.

  • Skills: Strong project management, organizational, and analytical skills; excellent English (spoken and written); effective business communication, stakeholder management, and presentation capabilities.

  • Ways of Working: Proven ability to build relationships and deliver results without line authority; adept at risk and issue management, using governance and escalation to drive rapid resolution; shares best practices and lessons learned.

  • Personal Attributes: Curious, self-motivated, and expert in relevant service domain(s).

Desirable skills/experience

  • Experience working in a global organization with complex, multi-geographical contexts.

  • Background in Information Systems environments for process improvement.

  • Familiarity with digital health and cross-functional collaboration (IT, Procurement, Alliance Management, Finance, HR).
