Manager Food Safety Quality & Regulatory Affairs (Foreign Material)

Reporting to the Director of FSQA you'll oversees daily operations related to foreign material in food safety and quality. Leads cross-functional teams to implement detection and elimination processes, defines technical objectives, and drives continuous improvement. Ensures compliance with company and regulatory standards across Conagra facilities, co-manufacturers, suppliers, and R&D. Develops and maintains procedures, monitors audit readiness, and addresses gaps in foreign material and physical hazard controls.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution & Leadership
    • Implements senior leadership’s strategic priorities.
    • Leads foreign material system assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Training & Culture
    • Develops and delivers food safety training for assigned facilities.
    • Promotes food safety culture at corporate and facility levels.
    • Mentors and coaches QA teams to build bench strength.
  • Compliance & Auditing
    • Ensures compliance with GFSI schemes (SQF, BRC), FDA, USDA, and internal standards.
    • Assists with HACCP plan creation and development.
  • Collaboration & Technical Support
    • Partners cross-functionally to improve supplier QA foreign material processes.
    • Provides technical support and data analysis for food safety decisions.
    • Supports regulatory compliance related to foreign material and physical hazard controls.
Position Qualifications
  • BS in Food Science, Biological or Chemical Science or related field 
  • Minimum 7 years of food industry experience in QA, Operations or equivalent function 
  • Experience auditing complex manufacturing sites.
  • Experience of food safety and quality regulations and standards (GMP, GFSI [SQF, BRC, other benchmarked scheme], HACCP, SSOP), government regulatory requirements, food safety, food manufacturing processes, foreign material technologies 
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Experience with technical reporting
  • Experience explaining technical terms to a non-technical audience 
  • Troubleshooting, data analysis, and investigative skills 
  • Depending on the needs of the business, operational impact at the plant level will require 25% to 50% travel.

Compensation: 

Pay Range:$107,000-$156,000

The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
