Job Summary

The Manager, Fleet Business Intelligence & Data Strategy, is a leadership role designed to transform the organization’s raw data into a competitive advantage. The individual oversees the entire data lifecycle—from the technical integration of databases to the delivery of high-level executive insights. Unlike a traditional IT Manager, this role is deeply embedded in business operations, focusing on revenue growth, cost optimization, and strategic scaling.

Essential Functions

• Define and execute the long-term vision for the company’s data landscape, ensuring that all database integrations align with 3–5 year business goals.
• Identify gaps in current data collection and spearhead the integration of new business systems.
• Oversee the design and optimization of relational databases and data flows to ensure high performance for analytical reporting.
• Serve as the "Product Owner" for the BI toolset.
• Establish and enforce Data Governance standards to ensure data security, privacy compliance, and absolute accuracy across all reports.
• Act as a strategic consultant to the Operational Department heads (Hotel, Marine, Port & Guest Services, Shore Excursions, etc.) to help them define their KPIs and build the tracking mechanisms to measure them.
• Translate complex technical constraints into business risks or opportunities for the executive leadership team.
• Lead and develop a team of analysts, fostering a culture of "business-first" data exploration.
• Manage the department budget, including software spend and external consultancy costs.

Competency 

Education:

• Bachelor (Master’s preferred) degree in Business, Data Science, or Information Management

Skills & Experience

• 7+ years in data analysis/database management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or project management capacity
• Proven track record of using data to drive measurable ROI or operational efficiency
• Excellent communication skills; fluency in English is required
• Expert-level SQL (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Snowflake)
• Deep understanding of Schema Design and ETL/ELT pipelines
• Advanced BI Platform administration
• Experience with guest survey platforms (e.g., Qualtrics)
• Demonstrated experience applying AI/LLMs for operational insight and sentiment analytics
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to senior leadership

Work Environment

• This role requires a blend of office and shipboard environments
• International travel may be required
