Manager - Financial Reporting & Control

The purpose of this role is to lead and manage regional financial reporting and controllership activities for APAC, ensuring high-quality, timely, and compliant delivery of monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting. The role provides senior oversight, coordination, and technical guidance across markets and the CCoE, while driving process stability, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

1. Financial Reporting & Controllership

  • Support the APAC Director of Financial Controls in managing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting and controllership activities.

  • Lead key controllership processes including month-end close (MEC), QE close, P&L, Balance Sheet, and CPS finalization, ensuring timely closure of the finance cube.

  • Ensure accurate and compliant BPC reporting across Intercompany, Finance, CPS, and related applications.

  • Prepare, review, and finalize the APAC Balance Sheet Review Deck, support F2F deck, including executive summaries, audit updates, key risks, and transformation highlights.

  • Perform high-level data source reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission.

  • Provide regional insights on accrued income vs. turnover and other key balance sheet movements, expanding coverage to additional markets as required.

2. Analysis & Forecasting

  • Review and analyze NWC and cash forecasts, validating cash conversion and supporting market-driven adjustments.

  • Prepare and review balance sheet flux and variance analyses for APAC markets, ensuring clear explanations and corrective actions where required.

  • Support markets using standardized approaches for balance sheet forecasting during RF and budget cycles.

  • Support the Regional FC during RF cycles through consolidation, report refresh, analytical review, and market coordination.

 

3. Documentation, IA & Compliance

  • Own and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for regional controllership processes.

  • Review/Approve Balance Sheet reconciliations prepared by in-scope markets (including Singapore), provide feedback, and ensure timely remediation.

  • Review LOS documentation, select samples for group submissions, and coordinate clarifications with markets.

  • Coordinate and strengthen the Internal Audit (IA) 3-way match process, including sample selection, issue tracking, and resolution.

  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating documentation, explanations, and responses.

  • Manage ad hoc controllership and compliance projects as required.

4. Credit Risk, Earnout & Investment Oversight

  • Review credit risk exposures, identify insufficient or high-risk cases, and drive corrective actions with markets.

  • Manage earnout disclosure processes, including tracker updates, validations, and timely market follow-ups.

  • Review earnout and investment reporting on a monthly basis to ensure accurate regional reporting and disclosures.

5. IFRS & Group Reporting

  • Support group reporting requirements across IFRS 9, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16 for APAC markets.

  • Lead tracker preparation, template reviews, and market coordination for group submissions.

  • Proactively resolve group and regional queries by clarifying requirements, validating support, and engaging markets early.

  • Monitor and analyze ATP movements and other key metrics, supporting markets during quarterly and year-end submissions.

6. Team Coordination & Oversight

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and oversight to the integrated APAC and SEA CCoE teams.

  • Drive timely and accurate delivery of all regional deliverables, especially during peak close, RF cycles, or team transitions.

  • Ensure continuity of delivery by redistributing work, providing hands-on support, and managing dependencies when required.

  • Collaborate closely with Regional, GFRA, Market Finance, and Ops Finance teams.

7. Process Improvement & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, control effectiveness, and reporting quality.

  • Build strong relationships with regional and market stakeholders, acting as a trusted controllership partner.

  • Proactively engage market users and new joiners to explain group reporting requirements, policies, COA, and BPC/SAC processes, reducing downstream queries.

  • Monitor and support adherence to group and regional KPIs, addressing gaps proactively.

8. Training & Mentorship

  • Mentor junior team members and provide structured on-the-job guidance.

  • Establish and sustain a training pillar within APAC CCoE, covering processes, systems, reporting requirements, and best practices.

Professional Skills & Qualifications

  • Qualified CA with 8+ years of experience in financial reporting, controllership & consolidation.

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting.

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, hands-on experience with SAP BPC; exposure to Blackline is an advantage.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.

  • High ownership mindset with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-market environment.
