Job Description:

Join Sun Life’s Asia Regional Office and High Net Worth Finance teams as a Finance Manager for our new entity in Singapore. We are seeking a dynamic finance professional to help shape our Finance Operating Model and drive excellence in financial operations, reporting, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with regional and high net worth finance teams to define and implement the Finance Operating Model, including accounting and financial reporting structures.
  • Develop and maintain the Finance procedures manual for the new entity.
  • Establish and execute processes and controls to meet SOX reporting requirements, including system implementation and user testing (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Concur, banking platforms).
  • Oversee daily finance operations such as expense tracking, approvals, journal entries (including intercompany transactions), billing, payment processing, fixed asset management, reconciliations, and period-end reporting in line with Asia Finance timelines.
  • Manage employee claims and payments, ensuring strict adherence to company policies.
  • Handle treasury matters and liaise with banks and Corporate Treasury as needed.
  • Support procurement activities in collaboration with local procurement teams.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive analysis of budgets, monthly/quarterly results, and forecasts to support management decisions.
  • Ensure revenue and expenses are monitored and on track.
  • Complete and submit regulatory reports, including audited financial statements and surveys for the Singapore Department of Statistics.
  • Manage tax matters, including tax filing, withholding tax, transfer pricing, and Singapore GST-related issues.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests, projects, and initiatives from management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in finance operations, accounting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of SOX compliance and related controls.
  • Hands-on experience with finance systems (SAP, Hyperion, Concur, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in a multinational environment and familiarity with Singapore regulatory requirements is preferred.
