Position Summary

This pivotal role orchestrates the delivery of high-impact executive communications, orchestrates major events, drives employee engagement, and steers organizational change initiatives.  Success demands not just robust leadership, but also deep expertise in executive communication, engagement, event production, change management, and program/process optimization. The Enterprise Operations Executive Programs Manager is a champion of operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness, a source of visionary guidance on communication standards, and a catalyst for innovation within the Executive Programs Team.  Beyond these responsibilities, this role provides strategic counsel to senior leaders, builds and nurtures relationships with external partners, safeguards confidential information, applies expert insights, and leads talent management efforts to strengthen and empower the team.

Key Responsibilities

People Leadership

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of executive communicators and engagement professionals.  Responsible for defining the strategic vision, long-term objectives, service level agreements (SLAs), and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Communications & Engagement (C&E) team
  • Leading the development of a comprehensive Enterprise Operations Transformation Communications & Change Management strategy for the broader organization –ensuring alignment with the HP enterprise-wide strategy and vision
  • Set clear priorities, goals, and development plans for team members while fostering collaboration and accountability
  • Create a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in communications, engagement, and event delivery
  • Manage departmental resources, budgets, and project timelines to ensure optimal allocation and delivery of key initiatives according to published schedules
  • Executive Communications
  • Oversee development of internal and external executive-level communications, including speech writing, visual storytelling, and multi-channel communications strategies
  • Provide editorial oversight to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with organizational strategy
  • Partner with senior executives to prepare impactful messaging, talking points, presentations, and narratives
  • Act as the primary liaison between Enterprise Operations and Corporate Affairs, facilitating effective communication, alignment, and collaboration on strategic, pan-HP initiatives.
  • Employee Engagement
  • Direct the design and execution of enterprise-wide employee engagement programs aligned with organizational priorities and the employee value proposition
  • Lead and mentor the Employee Engagement Program Manager, empowering them to help shape our overall engagement strategy and deliver a comprehensive engagement plan that supports a positive organizational culture
  • Ensure programming is measurable, scalable, and effective in building culture and organizational health

Events Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of major enterprise events (leadership offsites, town halls, employee experiences), ensuring strategic alignment and flawless delivery
  • Lead and support Events Program team members, fostering collaboration and professional growth to ensure high-quality execution of all events and initiatives. Empower team members by providing guidance, resources, and opportunities for skill development
  • Supervise event strategy, content development, and logistics execution across the team
  • Champion the continuous improvement of event processes and experiences, leveraging feedback and best practices to consistently raise the bar for quality and innovation
  • Proactively elevate the Enterprise Operations brand by ensuring all events reflect our values, professionalism, and commitment to excellence

Change Management

  • Partner with leaders to design and deliver communication strategies that support enterprise transformation and change adoption
  • Partner with our Transformation Program Management Offices to complement their change management initiatives with a comprehensive communication strategy that targets a hierarchical approach to change communications focused on enrolling leaders in why the changes are happening, what gets better as a result of the changes we’re implementing, and enables thought leadership on the art of the possible relative to how to use the capabilities we’re delivering
  • Facilitate ongoing feedback loops with impacted teams—collaborating closely with these key partners—to monitor adoption, address challenges, and reinforce key messages, ensuring sustained engagement throughout the change lifecycle
  • Ensure the organization is equipped with the right tools, resources, and messaging to drive awareness, alignment, and behavior change

Program & Process Management

  • Establish and oversee operating rhythms, processes, and governance for communications, engagement, and events
  • Track progress, outcomes, and impact with clear metrics and executive reporting
  • Manage budgets, vendors, and resources with discipline

  • Employee Engagement: Improvement in employee engagement/organizational health survey scores, participation rates, and adoption of engagement programs
  • Events: Attendee satisfaction, participation, and strategic alignment of enterprise events
  • Change Management: Evidence of adoption and positive feedback on communication effectiveness in supporting organizational transformation
  • Program Delivery: On-time, on-budget delivery with clear, measurable results

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 8 – 10 years of progressive experience in communications, employee engagement, or related fields, including at least 3 years in a people management role
  • Proven expertise in executive communications (speech writing, visual storytelling, and multi-channel communications), preferably for a Fortune 500 Company
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale events and engagement programs
  • Strong background in change management (Prosci or similar certification a plus)
  • Program/project management experience with a strong process orientation (PMP or similar certification preferred)
  • Experience guiding organizational transformation through effective communication strategies and operational excellence

Knowledge & Skills

  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams; proven talent development (coaching, mentoring, succession planning)
  • Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering on time and within budget
  • Expertise in driving process improvements and operational efficiency
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executive-level presentations

  • Experience in crafting social/digital content and content strategy
  • High levels of tact, diplomacy, and ability to handle sensitive issues

The base pay range for this role is $146,650 to $225,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
