Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Manager Engineering 2 – B-2 Modification Section Manager to join our team at Whiteman AFB, Missouri.
The Section Manager (SM) will lead a multi-disciplined engineering team responsible for planning, integrating, and executing B-2 modifications and providing onsite engineering support to the 509th Bomb Wing. The SM will work 90% of their time in the modifications discipline. This effort requires a wide range of expertise in aircraft structures, aircraft systems, low observables, composites, support equipment, and aircraft modifications. The SM will ensure that liaison, design, test, industrial, and manufacturing engineering functions are staffed and trained to support the accelerating pace of B-2 capability upgrades. The SM will be responsible for establishing, maintaining, and facilitating communications, tasking, and scheduling with each individual contributor. Approximately 10% of the manager’s time will be focused on recruiting, staffing, retaining talent, weekly team meetings, quarterly 1:1 meetings, and annual compensation reviews.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead, train and develop engineers to support technicians performing aircraft modifications and depot level repairs on multiple shifts
Provide technical support for the 509th Bomb Wing and Tenant Units at WAFB, for multi-discipline modification and sustainment technical support during normal day shift operations and 24/7 on-call operations
Support design reviews, provide technical review of new engineering designs and drawings, disposition engineering changes, and contribute to design of future modifications
Coordinate with internal and external agencies on aircraft modernization schedule.
Managing performance of section members and supervising employee development
Coordinating with the Department Manager and Programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and managing employee movement between programs
Addressing performer statement of work, balancing resources among programs, and verifying proper charging practices are followed, including time-card approval

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master's degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional/military experience
Must have B-2 modifications experience
Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Top Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 5 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Experience with USAF aircraft subsystem modification.
B-2 Material Review Board authority and experience.
Experience interpreting component detail drawings, specifications, installation drawings, and test procedures
Experience working on Special Access Programs or existing B-2 PAR.
