Northrop Grumman’s Business Unit, Armament Systems, is seeking an Electronics Assembly & Development Manager 1 to provide test engineering technical expertise for our guided projectile production programs in our Plymouth, MN offices.
Armament Systems specializes in the development and production of Ammunition, Guns and Precision Guidance Ordinance. This career opportunity is a great fit for self-motivated, proactive individual. What you'll get to do:
As an Engineering Manager 1, you will be required to provide a wide range of people leadership and mentoring activities and foster a culture that allows employees to learn and grow. You will facilitate and execute the performance management cycle for your direct reports. This includes setting goals, mid and end-of-year reviews as well as performance evaluations and compensation. This role will also require you to mentor your direct reports and be their first line of contact for career growth, training and certifications funding, stretch assignments.
Manager Responsibilities:

Workforce: maintain staff adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth. Plan assignments and fill program needs to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
Function as a contributor on DoD development programs, managing assigned responsibilities and directing team assignment to accomplish program goals
Performance management: on an ongoing basis engage with staff to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, etc. Execute to the Enterprise review cycle. Manage compensation and career progression.
Create and maintain forward-looking processes which align to strategic goals.
Effective communication with all internal/external customers
Improve planning, execution, and develop metrics to increase development area excellence
Prepare, review, and approve cost estimates and written or oral technical proposals
Lead the Product Development Complex (PDC) team of engineers and technicians within the Electronics Assembly and Development team. This Engineer Manager role reports directly to the PDC Manager.

- Current & active DoD security clearance
- Experience with design for manufacturing for circuit card assemblies
- Working knowledge of IPC Standards (J-STD-001, etc)
- Experience working development phase of the program life-cycle
- Demonstrated success in a functional management, project management, or similar technical leadership role.
Primary Level Salary Range: $115,500.00 - $173,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
