Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Manager, Facilities Engineering to lead a multi-site engineering organization supporting four campuses: Bacchus, Clearfield, Copper Crossing, and Promontory. 

This leader will oversee 5 direct managers and approximately 90 engineers and designers, ensuring delivery of safe, high-quality, and cost-effective technical solutions aligned with program and operational objectives. The role requires a strong balance of **technical leadership, people development, and operational execution across a complex, multi-site environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing, multi-disciplinary engineering organization across multiple campuses 
  • Establish and drive facility engineering standards, ensuring consistency, compliance, and technical excellence 
  • Ensure alignment with safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements across all programs and infrastructure projects 
  • Provide leadership for capital projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and delivery 
  • Oversee engineering support for construction, installation, testing, and project closeout activities
  • Partner cross-functionally with program teams, operations, EHS, and leadership to deliver integrated solutions 
  • Lead manpower planning, forecasting, and resource allocation to meet evolving business needs 
  • Develop and manage department budgets, including capital planning and cost estimation inputs for proposals 
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean methodologies and reliability-centered strategies 
  • Set clear performance expectations; provide coaching, feedback, and formal performance evaluations 
  • Mentor and develop both  leaders and individual contributors, building a strong leadership pipeline 
  • Foster a culture aligned with company values, with a strong emphasis on safety, accountability, and collaboration

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline(Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)  10 years of engineering experience with a BS, and 8 years of experience with a Master's in areas such as design, process, manufacturing, or quality engineering 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience leading or managing technical teams in a complex, cross-functional environment
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical challenges and drive results across organizations 
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with capital planning, budgeting, or cost management 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a formal engineering management or senior leadership role 
  • Background in facilities engineering, infrastructure design, or industrial systems 
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital projects (design, installation, budget, and schedule ownership) 
  • Knowledge of construction management, estimating, and project execution practices 
  • Familiarity with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) methodologies 
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Experience working with propellants, energetics, or explosive environments

Primary Level Salary Range: $166,700.00 - $250,100.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
