Duties and responsibilities, as they align with Ryan Key Results
People:
Lead, coach and develop consultants within the employment tax team
Ensure team compliance with firm policies, practice standards and quality controls
Allocate work effectively and manage team utilisation and performance
Build technical capability across UK employment tax, with awareness of mobility and equity issues
Work closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver joined up solutions
Client:
Develop client workplans and manage delivery timelines across engagements
Lead UK employment tax compliance and advisory engagements across a broad range of technical areas including PAYE, NIC, benefits, expenses, off payroll working, Construction Industry Scheme, National Minimum Wage, equity reporting and termination payments
Manage HMRC enquiries, reviews and disputes
Provide UK employment tax input into global mobility arrangements, including inbound and outbound employees
Connect with wider tax colleagues to identify opportunities for support across the client base
Identify opportunities to broaden scope across employment tax, mobility and reward
Identify opportunities for innovation and technology use
Value:
Manage and monitor all aspects of employment tax projects from scoping to completion
Maintain awareness of UK legislative developments and translate changes into clear client actions
Contribute to thought leadership and market visibility in the UK employment tax space
Support financial management of engagements, including budgeting, billing and recovery
Education and Experience:
CTA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification preferred
Typically four to six years’ experience in UK employment tax
Experience in coaching and mentoring team members
Strong client handling and stakeholder management skills
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have intermediate knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet navigation and research.
