Responsible for the supervision of all associates within Methodist LeBonheur Healthcare Employer Clinics. Functions as a Nurse Practitioner collaboratively with physician sponsor/s and acts as a change agent for a specific patient population by incorporating the role of clinical expert, role model, consultant, educator, practitioner, researcher, and nurse leader. Provides clinical expertise to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families by providing direct and indirect patient care. Collaborates with the health care team in assessing, designing, implementing, and evaluating population-based programs of patient care to enhance high quality-cost effective patient outcomes. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

A Brief Overview

What you will do
  • Assists in the interview, selection, and training process for all new staff. Conducts annual performance reviews. Maintains personnel records in accordance with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare and departmental policies.
  • Participates in budget preparation and monitoring. Prepares work schedule for the team.
  • Provides advanced level of direct and indirect care to individual patients/families and/or groups of patients/families in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Provides leadership and collaborates with other health professionals and educational resources to establish education programs to address the specific needs of populations of patients.
  • Demonstrates collaborative leadership with researchers, other health professionals, divisions, and departments to generate knowledge and make practice changes based on research findings, as well as, the results of the organizational and departmental quality improvement processes. Oversees clinical protocol development.
  • Provides leadership in meeting system, organizational, division, and departmental goals.
  • Demonstrates accountability for professional responsibilities and self-development

Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Master's Degree Nursing- RN
  • Doctorate Nursing- RN

Work Experience Requirements
  • Progressive leadership

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Use of PC and applications including word processing.
  • Ability to use data, interpret reports, analyze, draw conclusions, and make appropriate judgments.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong skills in analytical thinking, personnel management, interpersonal relations, and group dynamics.
  • Ability to lead and motivate individuals and groups of people toward the accomplishment of work and organizational goals.
  • Ability to work without close supervision or professional guidance and to exercise independent judgment.

  • Supervises employer clinic associates

Physical Demands
  • The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: medium work - exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform an activity, such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
  • Exposure to patient body fluids as well as exposure to hazardous or poisonous materials.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
