What You Will Do:

Work in a team environment as the site EH&S manager to effectively manage and lead the site EH&S initiatives to ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local safety, health and environmental regulatory requirements (air, water, waste) as well as RTX/PW requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, review, audit and update site EH&S programs and procedures. 
  • Coordinate and conduct EH&S audits and inspections.
  • Conduct various risk assessments and provide support as needed (LOTO, MG, CS, PRA, ERGO, PPE, etc.).
  • Execute & support site initiatives and projects to effectively drive improvements and a “Zero Incident Safety Culture”
  • Assist site leadership, supervisors and employees to identify risks, develop action plans and implement EH&S improvements.
  • Develop, coordinate, present and document training for EH&S related topics as required.
  • Lead and support the site EH&S council and Sub-Committees teams, assist with EH&S performance tracking, trends and root cause corrective actions for incidents and injuries; support the development and implementation of effective action plans to achieve the company goals.
  • Work closely with internal teams to develop injury reduction strategies and action plans that support RTX/PW EH&S programs.
  • Assist as well as lead incident investigations to determine root cause(s) and corrective actions, and follow-up on the implementation of effective risk mitigation and that corrective actions are completed on time and documentation is in place.
  • Develop, review, update and support implementation of site EHS programs, procedures, reports and training as required by RTX/PW Policy and all Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies.
  • Audit and assess facility activities to ensure regulatory compliance and per RTX/PW requirements.
  • Collect and maintain all required EH&S metric information and on time regulatory reporting and submissions.
  • Provide oversight of site security.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor degree (Bachelor of Science/Engineering in EH&S with a concentration in occupational safety, or related field preferred) with minimum of 8 years of relevant EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding and knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations and concepts to support compliance with applicable EH&S regulations, laws, rules, and RTX/PW requirements.  Or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • 8 years of relevant EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding and knowledge of OSHA and Environmental regulations and concepts to support compliance with applicable EH&S regulations, laws, rules, and RTX/PW requirements.  Or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and computer skills.
  • Experience creating and presenting EH&S training.
  • Candidate must be flexible to work additional hours, off-shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong working knowledge of RTX/PW EH&S management systems and OSHA VPP is preferred along with demonstrated experience in safety and environmental compliance. 
  • Additional EH&S certification(s) preferred: ASP / CSP / OHST / CHMM

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
