The Samsung direct-to-consumer ecommerce team is looking for a Manager of Business Planning and SCM to drive both short term and long term business planning for Mobile business. This candidate will play a critical role and responsible to manage weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecast, P&L analysis with high accuracy using analytics and build models based on Ecommerce sales drivers, promotional analysis and using category specific business knowledge. The candidate also is expected to manage supply chain demand loading and supply planning for assigned category.
The individual is expected to be hands-on to prepare Sales forecasting, product mix, risk/opportunity analysis, P&L analysis and to evaluate Ecommerce sales drivers (Traffic, conversion rate), impact of promotions on different sales platforms (e.g. Employee purchase plan), promotional analytics (attribution, elasticity and ROI/financial analysis) and creating what-if scenarios to achieve business goals. The role also includes creating insights/presentation for executive reviews and will own business planning for the assigned category. A successful candidate is highly analytical with critical thinking skills and business savvy, be adaptive and able to work cross functionally to influence sales and operations teams working towards a common goal in a highly matrixed, fast pacing organization. The position is located in Plano, TX.
Role and Responsibilities
Essentials/Duties and Responsibilities
- Hands-on to build Sales forecasting using several variables (Traffic, Seasonality, multiple promos etc.)
- Develop weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecast for both quantity and revenue
- Promotional analysis for attribution, elasticity and ROI/financial analysis
- Build a play book to use Promotional lift and to recommend promos to achieve goals
- Conduct sell-out risk and opportunity analysis and build financial performance view
- Develop monthly/quarterly targets and distribute the targets to various categories/channels and traffic drivers for Ecommerce
- Deep understanding of Mobile promotions, sales and channel actions
- Improve long term forecasting w/suitable analytical methodologies
- Use advanced analytics methodologies such as ML/AI methodologies for sales forecasting
- Create presentations with compelling data driven story to share with leadership, cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations
- Work with Category Management, Finance and Operations team to define and work on gap closures
- Manage weekly/monthly/quarterly sales forecast for both demand and supply (Sellout and Sellin AP1 and AP2) for all Mobile business categories
- Lead, own and manage PSI and S&OP
- Own Buy box management with ecommerce Ops tools
- Lead Supply Chain Planning to ensure adequate supply and no excess supply by ensuring sku level mix
- Manage Aging by accurately forecasting, tracking aging and working with Category Management to build programs to clear aging
- Drive Supply Chain transition and transformation to effectively integrate demand and supply and financial targets
- Significantly improve planning process by integrating demand plan, supply plan, financial outlook and target plan for a long term sustainable business
- Define the gap vs the target/management plan and work with CMs to drive gap closures
- Work with Category Management, Finance and Operations team
- Hands-on to work on forecasting, gap analysis, presentations and Promotional analysis
Skills and Qualifications
Background/Experience
- 6+ years of experience in in Ecommerce business planning, product/category management, supply chain management and/or data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on Quantitative analytics
- Bachelor’s degree in Business/Economics/Supply Chain or in math/analytics/engineering is required
- Master’s in Business Analytics or MBA would be a plus
- Hands-on experience with financial analysis, and P&L simulations, defining revenue gap/opportunity
- Hands-on with advanced excel with attention to detail to integrate complex data to build forecasting and to perform analysis. Ability to handle multiple complex excel files is a must.
- Hands-on to build forecasting, pricing and promotional analytics is needed (not based on system forecasts or customer forecasts, but experience in building bottoms-up forecasts)
- Experience with Financial analysis to build business cases and to create P&L analysis
- Managing complex PSI files with attention to detail
- Cross functional leadership experience of owning Sales Account Supply Chain Operations and represent sales team
- Creative thinker with excellent business acumen, analytical skills and experience with statistical modeling
- High level of confidence, integrity, enthusiasm, executive presence that fits a fast-paced, energetic and proactive organization
- Adaptability, using advanced preparation to quickly pivot throughout the week
- Exceptional presentation skills with good Microsoft PowerPoint capabilities
- Experience of working with Consumer Electronics, Telecom, Technology and/or Retail industry is strongly preferred
