Intro Summary of the Role
The Manager, Digital Marketing role is a Marketing Automation & Martech Specialist responsible for the technical management, optimisation, and continuous improvement of the organisation’s marketing automation and connected systems, with a primary focus on Adobe Marketo and its integration with core commercial platforms. Working within a prioritized roadmap and agile delivery model, this individual will identify and execute on opportunities for system improvement, ensuring the MarTech stack supports scalable, compliant and commercially effective digital activity.
This role requires a strong technical understanding of marketing automation architecture, platform configuration, integration best practice, data flows, and system governance within a complex B2B environment. The successful candidate will be expected to combine strategic thinking with hands-on technical capability, ensuring Marketo and its connected systems are set up effectively, maintained to a high standard, and evolved to support lead management, lifecycle progression, customer insight, ROI and increased Digital Commerce activity.

What You Will Do
Marketo Platform SME
Act as the business-side technical SME for Adobe Marketo alongside IT and commercial operations product owners ensuring the Marketo platform is configured and maintained in line with best practice, business requirements, and scalability needs.
Manage technical setup across key areas including program structure, folder architecture, tokens, naming conventions, user access, governance, and operational processes.
Maintain strong standards of data governance within Marketo and across integrated systems in line with internal and regulatory requirements.
Oversee deduplication, normalization, enrichment, lifecycle data consistency, and lead/contact data integrity.
Monitor sync health and data quality issues between Marketo, CRM, and SAP Commerce systems.
Maintain clear documentation of platform design, processes, dependencies, and change controls.
Integration Management Across the Martech Ecosystem
Own and support technical health of integrations between Marketo and connected systems including SAP Commerce, Salesforce, ZoomInfo, Google Ads, iCapture, and other relevant platforms.
Understand and manage data flows, sync logic, field mapping, API-based connections, webhooks, and platform dependencies.
Troubleshoot data flow and integration issues, identify root causes, and work with internal technical teams or external vendors to resolve them.
Recommend and implement improvements to integration design to improve reliability, performance, and business value.
Workflow, Lifecycle, Nurture, and Scoring Infrastructure
Build and maintain the underlying technical frameworks that support lead routing, lifecycle progression, scoring models, nurture logic, and automation workflows.
Review and optimise existing automation logic to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support better lead management outcomes.
Technical Enablement for B2B eCommerce Growth
Work closely with digital, commercial, and platform teams to ensure Marketo and associated systems support product-led, account-based, and sales-assisted buying journeys.
Contribute to the technical foundations required for improved tracking, attribution, segmentation, and customer engagement across online channels.
Roadmap Delivery and Agile Working
Work in an Agile product management team with a prioritised Martech and Digital roadmap, focusing on high-value technical improvements and system enhancements.
Support agile ways of working by helping define requirements, assess priorities, estimate effort, and deliver iterative improvements.
Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities across the marketing technology landscape.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practice
Evaluate current setup against business needs and recommend improvements in architecture, governance, automation design, and system performance.
What We Are Looking For
Domain Expertise
In-depth knowledge of Marketo marketing automation platform
Agile or Scrum certification preferred
Product owner certification required
Intermediate knowledge of SFDC
Intermediate HTML and CSS knowledge for building emails
MS Office (strong Excel skills)
Good understanding of CAN-SPAM, CCPA and GDPR compliant practices
Strong knowledge of digital marketing best practices and relevant KPIs
Strong understanding of best practices and trends in digital marketing, able to identify and evaluate / test opportunities for the business
Strong understanding of how customer buying journeys interact with the sales process and understanding of how leads and opportunities are tracked and measured through a sales pipeline.
Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines when working on multiple projects under pressure
