Are you looking for a new opportunity to take on a leadership role here at Suncor? In this role, the Manager of Digital Business Solutions is responsible for driving transformation and innovation across Suncor's Supply Trading and Optimization (ST&O) group. In this role, you will lead the development, implementation, and optimization of digital platforms, process, reporting and stewardship across ST&O.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field like Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics 
  • 10+ years’ experience in leadership roles within (and with exposure to) energy trading, financial services, or commodity markets 
  • 8+ years managing or senior roles in large-scale digital transformation initiatives to support to energy trading, financial services, or commodity markets 
  • Proven track record of implementing or supporting ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management) systems and trading platforms 
  • Deep understanding of energy commodity markets, trading processes, and regulatory requirements 
  • Strong business acumen with ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills for senior executive engagement
  • Project management expertise with experience leading complex, multi-year technology implementations 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead evaluation, selection, and implementation of business solutions
  • Oversee enterprise-wide digital initiatives that enhance competitive advantage and operational efficiency of ST&O and ST&O internal partners 
  • Design and implement integrated technology solutions that bridge front-office trading with middle and back-office operations 
  • Lead development of real-time data analytics and business intelligence capabilities for enhanced market visibility and decision support 
  • Oversee integration of multiple data sources, trading platforms, and risk management systems into cohesive digital ecosystem 
  • Build and lead high-performing digital business solutions teams including product owners, business analysts, process analysts, project managers, scrum masters, citizen developers and technology specialists 

Location and other key details:

  • This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
