Job Summary: You will serve as a MANAGER in the Weapons Systems Training Branch (JXNQ), Weapons Systems Fleet Engineering Division (JXN), Expeditionary Warfare Weapons and Energy Systems Department (JX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER. OR You will serve as a MANAGER in the Readiness Branch (JXNS), Weapons Systems Fleet Engineering Division (JXN), Expeditionary Warfare Weapons and Energy Systems Department (JX) of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER.

Major Duties:

  • You will serve as a Manager for an assigned organizational element tasked with advanced scientific or engineering projects, programs, and initiatives.
  • You will be responsible for the development of the workforce, effective execution of workload consistent with organizational initiatives and objectives, and for providing outstanding support and service to assigned customers.
  • You will further organizational and agency programs and initiatives by coordinating and integrating work that involves distinct areas of responsibility and that requires varying skills, knowledge, and abilities to execute the mission.
  • You will formulate objectives and priorities and implement plans consistent with long-term interests of the organization in a global environment taking into consideration the environment, resources, capabilities, and constraints.
  • You will capitalize on opportunities and manage risks and contingencies, recognizing the implications for the organization and stakeholders
  • You will develop and implement the organization's project and programmatic policies and procedures and determines criteria for assessing effectiveness.

Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13 equivalent) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: as a professional scientist or engineer, leading the planning and execution of projects, programs, or initiatives by managing project resources and quality deliverables to ensure mission objectives are met.
