Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Manager to join the Corporate Communications team for an 18 month contract to drive communications programs in support of the firm’s strategy.

This is for an existing vacancy based in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and you’ll work with stakeholders across Canada to amplify the firm’s brand and nurture reputation among internal and external audiences.
 

Job responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive communications plans, targeting internal and external audiences, that support strategy and strengthen the visibility and reputation of the firm.
  • Partner closely with the Chief of Staff, executives, and senior leaders to understand firm priorities, align messaging, and ensure consistency across owned and earned channels.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and COO by providing strategic communications guidance and support.
  • Prepare high-impact communications for the CEO and COO, including presentations, talking points, and key messages that align to firm strategy.
  • Lead firm-wide and Partner communications projects. 
  • Mitigate reputational and operational risk through proactive communications planning and execution.
  • Work with peers on the Communications team and the PR agency to identify compelling stories, pursue thought leadership opportunities and manage announcements.
  • Monitor media landscape and industry trends to proactively identify thought leadership opportunities.
  • Leverage new tools and technologies to increase the effectiveness and impact of the firm’s communications program.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • You are confident, strategic, and comfortable in a dynamic business environment.
  • You have 7+ years of professional communications experience. Prior professional services firm or experience in a large matrix organization is an asset.
  • You have post-secondary education in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, business or in another related field.
  • You are optimistic, forward-looking, and an expert in both strategic planning and tactical execution.
  • You constantly seek opportunities to learn, grow and develop your skills.
  • You have sophisticated business writing and editing skills, and the ability to simplify technical content into clear, concise, creative and impactful communications.
  • You have excellent interpersonal and client focused skills and interact positively and professionally with all levels of the firm, including executives, partners, managers and clients.
  • You can manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
  • You are an expert in building and executing communications plans, relationship management, and you see opportunities where others see problems.
  • You are tech-savvy, and an enthusiastic user and champion of current and new technology solutions and platforms that enhance efficiency.
  • You are highly proficient in Microsoft Solutions (SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and internal communications platforms. 

The expected range of compensation for this role is $93,000 - $141,000/ year
