Perform complex accounting and reporting functions requiring minimal direction including but not limited to Fixed Asset and Lease Accounting. Monitor and analyzes general ledger accounts, financial statements, and reports. Utilize industry specific accounting and reporting principles and techniques, advanced computer skills and a profound understanding of the company’s operations, workflows and administrative systems. Participates in developing and complementing accounting policies and procedures. Performs accounting activities and analyses.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the direction of the accounting functions of the organization.

  • Support most aspects of accounting management.

  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial statements ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

  • Prevent inaccuracies in financial statements by setting up internal control systems and adopting proper policies for financial reporting.

  • Develop proper operational, data documentation and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Review the company’s accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances.

  • Manage journal entries and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing.

  • Present various accounting reports to the top management and make suitable observations and recommendations.

  • Participate in preparation for the annual audit.

  • Provide accounting support throughout the company.

  • Lead fixed asset and lease functions.

  • Perform various accounting functions for Webster Healthcare Segment.

Education, Skills, and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA preferred).

  • 6-8 years accounting experience in public accounting of financial services industry preferred

  • Exposure to fixed asset and/or lease accounting.

  • Advanced Microsoft excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis.

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of internal controls, risk and SOX compliance.

This role has a hybrid work schedule and can be based in our Waterbury location.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $115,000 USD.  Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
