The Manager, Conference Services and Event Planning Technology (“Manager”) will oversee the strategy, implementation, and management of the firm’s event technology ecosystem. This role serves as the Marketing and Communications department’s subject matter expert in all event-related systems, with an emphasis on optimizing Cvent. The Manager will lead system integrations across platforms and project manage the full lifecycle of events within Cvent. This includes coordinating build and configuration, advising on timelines, bringing key stakeholders together, and overseeing launch, reporting, and post-event analysis. The Manager will also evaluate existing and emerging technologies to ensure the firm’s event tools remain efficient, connected, and forward-looking. Working collaboratively with internal teams and technology partners, the Manager will ensure Goodwin’s event systems are aligned, scalable, and integrated to support a consistent, data-driven, and service-focused approach to conference services and event management.
What You Will Do:
Serve as the firm’s primary project manager for Cvent-based events, leading end-to-end delivery including build, configuration, testing, launch, reporting, and post-event analysis, coordinate timelines, deliverables, and integrations with stakeholders across departments.
Assess current event-related tools and how they interface with related firm systems (Cvent, EMS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workfront, Zoom, Concur, etc.) and recommend enhancements or new solutions that streamline workflows and improve the event lifecycle.
Partner with internal teams and external vendors to set up and manage integrations between event technology and firm platforms (CRM, Finance, Travel, etc.); maintain working knowledge of APIs, data mapping, and governance.
Design and deliver training and documentation that enable planners and internal stakeholders to confidently use Cvent and other event systems. Advise on best practices to improve adoption and accuracy.
Set up and manage event check-in technology, including iPads and badge printers, to ensure smooth on-site registration and attendee tracking.
Support event collateral and communication needs through basic web and email design, implementing copy into pre-configured templates, and creating event badges aligned with firm standards.
Ensure data quality across systems; create and maintain dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights on attendance, engagement, and ROI.
Manage event technology vendors, review contracts, coordinate upgrades and add-ons as needed with minimal disruption. Advise department and stakeholders on changes to platforms as needed.
Identify automation opportunities, standardize templates and workflows, and research emerging event technologies to advance Goodwin’s event strategy and attendee experience.
Who You Are:
BA/BS or Equivalent
10+ years of experience in event technology management or comparable systems administration.
Cvent certification preferred.
Proven experience managing enterprise event platforms (Cvent preferred) and overseeing complex, integrated system environments.
Expertise in event management systems. Preference to Cvent, EMS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Workfront, Zoom and an understanding of integrations (travel, CRM, etc.)
Experience and familiarity with other related technologies including but not limited to Bizzabo, RainFocus, ON24, Webex Events, Swoogo, Goldcast, SpotMe, HubSpot, Marketo, Smartsheet, Monday.com, and Maptition, or comparable tools supporting event registration, engagement, CRM, analytics, or project management
Demonstrated ability to train and empower others to utilize event technology systems effectively
Strong analytical and project management skills, including requirements gathering, documentation, and change management
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across departments and levels
Commitment to data integrity, security, and user experience across integrated systems
Ability to interact professionally at all levels, both internally and externally
Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet hard deadlines
Must be able to remain calm under pressure, and at times make decisions quickly, with maturity and good judgement
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel
