About The Team

The Commercial Property Portfolio team manages commercial, retail, student accommodation, and retirement village assets. Scope covers end‑to‑end property and lease administration, tenancy schedule renewals, rent reviews, compliance, and WHS. The team drives financial performance through revenue optimisation, cost recovery, and debt control, partnering with Campus Development, Campus Operations, Sustainability, and outsourced asset managers.

Your New Role!  

The Manager – Commercial Property Portfolio leads the strategic, financial, contractual, and operational management of the University’s property, commercial, and retail activities, supporting campus activation and alignment with strategic priorities. The role oversees planning and delivery of property services, including asset and contract management for leases, the property investment portfolio, and third‑party agents for Campus Living Village student accommodation and Murdoch Retirement Village.

As part of the Finance Office, the position provides operational, financial, and contractual advice to the Chief Financial Officer and leadership team to support the Campus Development Plan and Our Strategy – Ngala Kwop Biddi. Building a brighter future, together.

Your key responsibilities will include –

  • Lead and develop the team, with clear portfolio ownership and performance goals.
  • Oversee end-to-end property, lease, financial, and risk management, including tenancy administration, leasing activities, compliance, budget performance, revenue optimisation, facilities oversight, and sustainability initiatives
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and provide strategic insight, collaborating with internal teams, and external partners, delivering timely reporting, monitoring market conditions and legislation, and supporting broader University property objectives.

This Continuous | Full Time (37.5 hours per week) attracts a remuneration of $131,854.00– $137,976.00 (market loading eligible) plus 17% employer superannuation contributions in 2026.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent senior experience in property, asset, or commercial management
  • Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, including clear written reports and effective interpersonal engagement
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex contracts and service providers
  • Strong digital proficiency, including effective use of Microsoft Office and technology for reporting and communication
