The Commercial Finance Manager plays a critical role in driving financially sound decision‑making across pricing, contracting, and revenue planning within Lonza’s CDMO business for the Integrated Biologics Platform. This role partners closely with Commercial Development, Sales, Legal, and Finance teams to embed financial rigor into customer engagements and long‑term business planning. Combining strong analytical capability with commercial acumen, the role supports profitability optimization, risk management, and the alignment of financial outcomes with Lonza’s enterprise growth objectives.

Key Accountabilities
- Partner on contract and pricing strategy with Commercial Development, Portfolio Management, Sales, and Legal to shape financially robust customer agreements
- Design and implement pricing models and financial frameworks that support value‑based negotiations, risk mitigation, and long‑term profitability
- Act as a strategic business partner by delivering clear financial insights on pricing, contract structures, project evaluations, and commercial initiatives
- Monitor and analyze contract‑level margins, identify deviations from plan, and provide root‑cause analysis and recommendations to protect profitability
- Co‑lead financial planning and reporting activities, with a focus on topline and commercial performance, including long‑term planning (BSR), annual budgets, outlooks, monthly closing, and variance analysis
- Engage senior stakeholders to translate financial insights into actionable strategic decisions aligned with corporate objectives
- Assess customer credit risk in collaboration with GBSO, including evaluation of creditworthiness, review of AR provisions, and incorporation into forecasts
- Collaborate closely with site finance teams responsible for costing and FTE planning to ensure alignment across commercial and operational financial processes
- Ensure compliance with IFRS, the Lonza Accounting Manual (FAM), the Lonza Management Accounting Manual (MAM), and other applicable accounting standards and principles
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Broad experience across commercial finance, business controlling, or financial planning roles
- Proven exposure to complex, customer‑facing commercial environments such as CDMO, manufacturing, or life sciences
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of financial statements and end‑to‑end financial performance drivers
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and changing business environment
- Strong skills in cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Ability to interpret complex financial information and present insights clearly to non‑finance stakeholders
- High level of commercial acumen and analytical thinking
- Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder‑management capabilities
