What is the opportunity?

As a Manager, Commercial Banking Portfolio Management - Credit Risk Monitoring, you will play a key role in identifying emerging credit deterioration via Early Warning Signal monitoring and supporting the Watch List process.

Commercial Banking offers a wide range of lending, deposit and transaction banking products and services to Canadian companies and foreign businesses in Canada. Our team of relationship managers and specialists serves the full lifecycle of commercial clients, from entrepreneurs and mid-market enterprises to the largest Canadian privately owned companies, public corporations and Canadian subsidiaries of global multinationals.

What will you do?

  • Support the Commercial Banking Watch List and triage process by liaising with credit underwriters, Relationship Manager and Risk Management partners across the country to deliver comprehensive documentation for watch list and triage meetings
  • Co-ordinate special industry reviews and prepare peer comparisons for selected industries within Commercial Banking.
  • Assist with loan portfolio management and related administrative duties
  • Prepare reconciliation / analysis / reports to meet ad-hoc requests as necessary
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive and highly performing team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Positive “can do” attitude, pro-active approach to problem solving, an open mind and an interest in understanding new processes and concepts.
  • Data management skills, including a proficiency with MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint
  • Well organized and able to set priorities and devote appropriate attention to each assignment resulting in performing well under pressure, meeting time sensitive deadlines and prioritizing work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to details
  • Ability to work independently

Nice-to-have

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, or Finance
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • Knowledge of credit products and financial analysis
  • Knowledge and experience with Excel macros/VBA coding, Python and SQL
  • Knowledge of RBC’s policies, procedures and systems.
