Manager, Client Solutions - Japanese Speaker

GLG is looking for an experienced professional to join our Asia Global Servicing Client Solutions team based in Dublin, Ireland as a Manager. Managers work directly to support and manage project inquiries coming from our client firms based in Asia-Pacific (with a particular focus on Japanese clients). The Manager is responsible for managing and leading a team which coordinates and executes short and mid-term client projects and activities, ensure the team meets or exceeds its commercial, development, compliance and people targets. The Manager also works with the Leadership team to develop and implement business performance improvement initiatives.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing and leading a team of junior to mid-level professionals. Ensure best in class client service practices are upheld through close coaching and support direct reports in their professional development plans, actively manage team performance and people development. Role model GLG leadership and culture in and outside the team.
  • Developing and implementing strategy for our efforts in close collaboration with our Asia Pacific Leadership team, Asia Pacific (in particular Japan) Client Solutions partners and other GLG stakeholders. Track team performance and create plans to accelerate growth near- and long-term
  • Facilitating educational interactions between GLG experts (Council Members) and our clients, enable our clients to make more informed and confident investment decisions. This includes fulfilling time sensitive research requests by analyzing client requests, building and qualifying primary populations of topic experts, and working with internal partners to develop customized interactions for clients. Most GLG client/expert interactions consist of telephone consultations, but also may consist of in-depth engagements, in-person interaction, survey and tour, etc.
  • Project support and management of custom solutions for clients, which includes, but not limited to project scoping, project set up, client and expert engagement, vetting and highlighting experts, project follow up and compliance.
  • Team-wide collaboration: Work closely with our Asia-Pacific based Client Solutions and Business Development teams, as well as other functional professionals globally to develop customized products and solutions for GLG clients.
  • Compliance: Navigate complex compliance requirements and operational procedures that differs across a wide pool of clients in daily project management, to protect the integrity of client engagements. Coach junior team members to adhere to GLG’s robust standards of compliance

 

An ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Native or near native fluency in both English and Japanese is essential for this role
  • At least 4 years of work experience, ideally in full-fledged client facing/servicing roles that could be in consulting, Financial Services, market research, or other professional services or start up environment
  • Direct team management experience, where quarterly/yearly appraisals were directly managed and delivered to direct reports
  • Strong can-do attitude and track record of business growth / turnaround
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team of client service professionals
  • Passion for problem-solving in a client servicing role
  • Successful track record working in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Client focused/driven individual – must be able to innovate to be a problem solver for clients
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) skills in English and willingness to call and engage senior professionals
