[What the role is]

The Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), a cluster of NParks, safeguards the health and welfare of animals through comprehensive and integrated programmes and works closely with partners in the veterinary and animal-related industries to strengthen capacities and enhance competencies in animal health and welfare. It is the main touch-point on animal and veterinary matters in Singapore and the first responder for all animal-related feedback. It also conducts public education and engagement programmes to foster a humane and gracious society for all, where pet owners, communities, and animals co-exist in greater harmony within our City in Nature.

[What you will be working on]

You will be part of the team to manage the procurement and administration at the Centre for Animal Rehabilitation. You will be required to manage all essential procurement functions for the centre’s operations, which include formulating and publishing tenders and purchases, while ensuring compliance with government procurement policies and procedure. You will also be required to manage the general administration and logistical support for the centre. As part of your daily work, you will also be assisting with the following:

  • Manage procurement operations, including quotation and tender exercises and contract management.
  • Support the management and upkeep of the shelter clinic, including inventory management of drugs and consumables.
  • Oversee the general administration of the centre, including animal record keeping.
  • Data management and analysis, regular maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment and workplace health and safety.
  • Assist with the different duties, activities and programmes related to the Centre.

[What we are looking for]

  • Experience in procurement operations such as managing tenders, contract management and procurement governance in the public sector preferred. 
  • Strong management and coordination skills, self-motivated, meticulous, conscientious and with good reasoning skills.
  • Independent and able to work effectively with others in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude, energetic, enthusiastic, possess good communication and interpersonal skills and passionate about animals.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Applications.
